Boyfriend jeans, worth investing in?

I just wondered if people think this is a passing trend, so buy a cheap version, or if it's worth investing in a quality pair because they will be around for a few years?

I think it depends on whether they suit you or not. Boyfriend jeans swamp my frame and I look ridiculous. However, I have since found a pair of slim boyfriends in Dorothy Perkins and love wearing them (but can't for the life of me find them online...).

I think a more passing trend will be the patched jeans. I've got the Only Destroy patch jeans from ASOS but I think that look will be over soon.

I think they are horrible tbh. Haven't seen them look good on anyone.

I look like a cross between Humpty Dumpty and someone from an 80s sitcom redecorating their house...

And I am a size 10 fitness freak!

I think it's a passing trend, they look great on the models but I've yet to see them look the same in real life. I love the idea of them, but think I will look swamped too. Maybe invest in a cheaper pair for now, I'll be sticking to my skinniest but keeping my eyes open for THE pair!

I've just bought a pair that aren't too extreme (I.e.the crutch isn't down to my knees), from Hush, and I am really pleased with them. Rolled up, they are so wearable, especially for summer. I have a very straight up and down size 10 frame.

Passing trend.

I don't like them except on skinny bloggers with vertiginous heels, sunglasses and a designer bag. Which by definition makes them crap.

I have some slim fit distressed jeans (Diesel via TK Maxx) that I have tried rolled up with espadrilles and a tee, which I think gives the effect without adding inches.

Maybe try thicker jeans, proper ones not superskinnies, with some distressing, instead. More versatile.

I'm wearing mine again from last year so it depends what a passing trend is I suppose.

wools · 30/03/2014 11:52

I like them as more comfortable than skinnys but I think straight leg jeans rolled up are more versatile and look really good.

RockMummy · 30/03/2014 12:29

I think straight legged jeans rolled up look better.
Have bought two different pairs of boyfriend fit jeans and have taken them both back so I guess I'm just not sold on the shape of them. Too 80s for me too! They add too many inches around the middle. Now I remember why I didn't like them back then either.

Twinklestein · 30/03/2014 13:19

I've got skinny bf jeans and enjoy the 80s revisit. I reckon they'll be around longer than people think because everyone is bored of skinnies.

You might consider some skinny bell bottoms as they're more edgy and more flattering. I've had mine for 5 years and they're still rockin.
