marks and spencer , are you in Glasgow SSD, cause customer services at M&S Braehead are normally good at checking stock levels at all local stores

hairymclary · 16/08/2006 22:02

I took my friends ds to get school shoes the other day and clarks had some. I'll see if I can find a picture for you

hairymclary · 16/08/2006 22:04

I can't link frm the site, but one was called penalty spot and one i called nightwatch. have a look on the site

ssd · 16/08/2006 22:05

Try Clark's Game or Goal Line , or StartRite Techno Impact

generally Rhino are great for trainer-looking shoes but they start at a 2 (grr)

MrsBadger · 17/08/2006 10:37

oh, and Penalty Spot as suggested before but I can't find a good picture. They're really cool, with three velco straps.
Night Watch have laces though so may be less good.

LIZS · 17/08/2006 10:40

How about Defender or Techno Jag ?

scotlou · 17/08/2006 10:43

You need Ricosta ones - my ds has them. Look and feel exactly like trainers yet are plain black for school. Velcro fastenings
Try an independent kids shoe shop - Stomp in Stirling sell them if that's any good (my ds is a 13F too!)

MrsBadger · 17/08/2006 10:44

ooh yes, Techno Jag better than Techno Impact - more trainery!

Mo2 · 17/08/2006 10:45

Ah - this confirms what I always suspected - DS has big feet - he is a 13G, and is only 6 !!!

nicnack2 · 17/08/2006 10:53

try on line i knew you need them pronto. rockport do bigger sizes. ds1 who is 3 has size 11. but then dh has size 14!

ssd · 17/08/2006 20:31

tried to find ricosta and rockport on line but couldn't find anything like black trainers.

trouble is ds is at it now and claims the only thing that fits him is his new clarks trainers, which are black/silver/red.

I don't want him going to school in trainers although he claims all the boys do he thinks I'm thick!

but you know what it's like, dragging him and ds2 round a shopping centre looking for shoes is as much fun as a wet weekend.

Second vote for JJB here. I bought a pair of black nike ones for £15. Black enough to look like school shoes, but cool enough for DS (9) to want to wear them. DS (11) is size 6.5, and can only buy from men's dept. He doesn't like trainers - he wants "big clumpy" shoes, and I'm struggling. Anyone know where I can get a pair that don't look like old men's shoes? I need to get them before Monday too.

MrsMuddle · 17/08/2006 21:47

PS sorry to hijack. I should have started a new thread probably.

ssd · 17/08/2006 21:54

thanks I'll try JJB.

TBH he could wear his trainers, I've seen lots of kids wearing trainers, it's just me trying to keep him in shoes.........
