Itchy scalp after highlights - has anyone had this?

I had highlights last Friday and my scalp has been itchy since then is this normal? I only had t section highlights and not that many.

I have had highlights before by a different hairdresser and much more blonde without itching.

Is there anything I can use to help with the itching sensation?

Did they do a skin test before applying? They should have done one, normally just on skin behind your ear.

Sounds like it could be an allergic reaction. Is it flaking? If so could also be that bleach has burnt your scalp, sounds worse than it is and should clear though.

They may have used a stronger bleach solution - I know you say it isn't as blonde as previous, but there's a difference between tonal highlights using less peroxide, and highlights using peroxide concentrations (with potential irritation caused)

I would go back to the previous hairdresser and show them - they might be able to suggest a remedy. I googled this once as I had a similar reaction and was told milk would help - I never tried it though, as it calmed down after a couple of days - but yours seems to be going on for a bit long, so I'd get it seen to.
