Shampoo Brands

After various shampoos were being recommended by friends that they find quite good, i thought id see what shampoos everyone on here recommends.

Question 1) what brand of shampoo do you use ?

Question 2) why do you use that brand ?

Question 3) what are the main features, you like about the shampoo ?

I generally don't care what shampoo and conditioner I try, think they're all much of a muchness.......

until I tried the new L'Oréal Elvive Fibrology which promises to thicken fine hair, and it actually DOES! After only two washes my hair is noticeably thicker. I imagine I'll need to use a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove build up but so what, it's amazing stuff and currently only £1.99 in Morrisons.

Rahua shampoo - very expensive and you can get it on Cult beauty - I'm knocking on a bit and have coloured and highlighted hair but it makes hair incredibly soft and 'young' looking (ie not like a head of bleached straw) and thicker looking too. It also protects coloured hair from fading plus a bottle lasts forever. It blobs into your hand like a bit of Royal Jelly rather than the usual viscous liquid.

Oh Inwould love to find a miracle shampoo and conditioner. I have tried so many both cheap and expensive including Redkin, Paul Mitchell, Phillip Kingsley etc and nothing has fitted. I have thick, curly, dry hair with flaky itchy scalp and now requires regular colouring so lots in the mix to cater for.

I tend to go back to Aussie and dove products the most.

I love the blue Lush shampoo bar - it is by far the lshampoo I've ever used, so much so that I don't even need conditioner after it.

Joico Kpac range ATM due to severely damaged hair . TBH I can't really sing its praises for the price I paid..if anything it made my hair drier Confused John Frieda full repair masque has been my saviour lately and a lot cheaper

L'oreal serie expert vitamino colour.

Been using for years now, if I change I always end up going back! I buy salon sizes that last about six months.

I love Kerastase, but I just can't fund an expensive shampoo and conditioner habit these days Grin

Currently using VO5, but I do miss my Kerastase (sod it...we can eat beans for a month right?)

I use Pureology. It was recommended by a Mumsnetter here on S&B, so thank you - I love it!
It gives my hair volume and is hydrating, protects the colour and is SLS free.

Used to use the pink Kerastase one (not SLS free) but Pureology is far better.

From looking at the range so far it's a good mix of branded shampoos.

Do any of you have a particular brand loyalty to a specific brand of shampoo ?

Why?

if anyone has found a particular brand they like, do they stick with it or try different brands (that's the reasoning behind my question)

I've used the John Frieda brunette range for years but have just bought Boots Botanics today to try something new.

L'oreal elvive with selenium. It used to be with the dandruff shampoos and is now a mans shampoo but is identical in a different bottle. Finding out that it wasn't discontinued and was simply rebranded was the best day of my week. It's simply the only shampoo which keeps my itchy scalp in check without stripping the colour and keeps my hair looking fab. I have no brand loyalty to conditioners and tend to buy whatever is on offer.

I use Tigi Sleek Mystique. Makes it so much easier to blow dry my hair and has dramatically cut down on my frizz.

I use anything, I must have about 10 bottles in the bathroom, all different. My hair is long, straight and highlighted and it looks exactly the same whatever I use. So I just use what smells nice.
