Yep. Well, no, it was brought to me the last time my mother was here. She went a little mad in a few shops and came through w/a case full of clothes.

So fun to put them on her.

Bozza · 13/08/2006 21:41

I have sorted out DS's uniform because we are on holiday for the last two weeks of the break. But that is all. DD will fit in last year's clothes and also has a fair selection of handmedowns to go at. DS is insisting on still wearing shorts and will be in uniform Mon-Fri so I can't be bothered with him yet.

biglips · 13/08/2006 21:43

mmmeeee as ive bought quite a bit now for Winter. Started it about 3 weeks ago.

madrose · 13/08/2006 21:45

no - but have started to look. big depressing as she has some lovely summer dresses

Frizbe · 13/08/2006 21:47

no not a thing her sports jacket thingy still fits, so she'll have to make do with that for now over summer t-shirts!

tiswas · 13/08/2006 21:49

We bought a lovely winter coat for dd just this week in Ladybird at Woolies at it was half price!! £28 down to £14 - wasnt really looking for one just yet but it was too good a bargain to miss!! They had loads in there - saved me forking out £30+ when she needs one in Autumn

KTeepee · 13/08/2006 21:55

Well the ones at school don't get/need much apart from uniform. DD will need a new winter coat and they both probably need new school shoes. Rest of uniform is sorted for now. Tend to buy things for weekend wear as and when they are needed. Preschooler gets given so many clothes from his cousin (hardly worn) that I can't justify buying much for him either.

I will probably have a look when I am on holidays and pick up some stuff then. I need a new winter coat too so will be keeping an eye out for one over the next couple of months (or pleading with the style gurus here to help me find one!)

bought most of DS's last year in the sales.
me, i haven't a stitch.

PrettyCandles · 20/08/2006 22:59

My children's 'autumn wardrobe' is a combination of hand-me-downs (ds to dd), things that still fit from last year (I generally buy generously-sized) and things I picked up in previous sales (I'll buy up to 2y in advance). I bought ds a zip-up cardie yesterday, and I think it's the only new, non-sale thing I've bought either of them for this autumn.

BettySpaghetti · 20/08/2006 23:02

DS's wardrobe is in the garage, assembled and one coat of undercoat on ready for the next one (but I don't think thats what you mean...is it?)

Sorry but this thread reminded me that its been there waiting since before our holiday so I really should finish it

Do people get their children new clothes every season???!

schneebly · 21/08/2006 18:31

I just take whatever is handed down to me and I buy bits and pices from charity shope or supermarkets as we go If they are lucky they get stuff from ebay too Got DS2 BN reebok trainers on there last night for £1.21!

tracyk · 21/08/2006 18:35

I got a couple of fleeces from Boden summer sale which should do for through the winter. ds still fitting into most of his summer trousers - some still too big actually -skinny thing that he is. But will have a look in Primark/Matalan for some more soon.
Didn't know what size he would be come winter but I reckon he's not going to grow too much now.

chocybickie · 21/08/2006 18:37

nope. just brought ds1's school clothes. won't think about winter stuff till its actually cold.

I have, but only because DS is tall, and grows quickly, and nothing ever fits him from season to season! I did a boden order for tops as I love the colours they have but will get cheapie jeans from asda.

Got wonderful bargains from the monsoon sale yesterday - a wool zip up cardie and 2 shirts, 70% off if anyone has a monsoon nearby.

SleepyJess · 21/08/2006 18:58

Schneebly, thank God.. sometimes there is such a 'class divide' on MN.. and I don't evenb do class! I too await bags of outgrown clothes from SIL's kids who wear Next etc.. although there have not been many lately.

I also scour Ebay.

As for Boden, even the sale stuff is about a million times out of my price range..

My kids do have new school uniform though.. I suffered at school for wearing scruffy hand me downs.. I can't do that to mine (unless it doesn't look second hand.) And I do sometimes buy several items of kids clothing at once at Primark. (Even though there have been MN threads where people say they have to hide their Primark carrier bags even they ever stoop as low as to buy anything! )

I don't really buy according to the season though.. maybe just because mine aren't babies anymore so they don't outgrow everything at once.

fairydust · 21/08/2006 18:58

have got most of the bottom halfs - have all the school unifrom which includes a coat - so just need to get some tops - a weekend coat and some boots.
