Low-rise jeans and love handles

Perhaps you stylish people can help me out with a question that's been bothering me. I have a pair or low-rise jeans. They fit beautifully apart from the teeniest little bulge over the waistband . It's only there when they are newly-washed and v tight and DH reckons it's not noticeable. I am paranoid about it however and cover it with a big belt. However it seems to me that I'm the only person who is bothered - I see loads of women (girls I suppose) who seem to wear their bulges with pride! With bare midriffs too. Please tell me if this is normal and I'm just being daft. Or is it only OK if you are under 24 and it's juvenile flab that is on show?

doesn't sound like you've got a huge muffin top - relax a bit; be proud of your body and wear what you like!

Im under 24, does that mean my flabby bits are juvenile and i'll grow out of them?

I think its more about your own attitude than anything else, if you are comfortable and condifent in what you wear then you will look better iyswim.

I think if it's covered by a top it's acceptable but no teeny tiny crops and over-hang please juvenile or not

joelallie · 11/08/2006 16:17

Tamba - no, it doesn't. Your juvenile flabby bits will just mature...

I have a similar problem with my Gap cords and specifically wear long tops on that first day.

I know lots of people wear their bulges with pride but that doesn't mean I want to be one of them!

All my jeans are low rise cos i had a belly button piercing pre preg and i too have a slight overhang (shazronnie - "huge muffin top" pmsl!). Piercing now out and staying out but do wear longer tops to cover tummy (when i can find them long enough, i'm 6ft 1!) I agree with shazronnie, be proud, my dh assures me men like curves not skinny supermodels, bless him!!
