Do wide legged trousers look good if you have a fat bum?

I LOVE my wide legged lounge pants and am seriously considering getting a pair of black, wide legged trousers for work to wear with a fitted blouse. Problem is I'm a 16 and have a huge ass. The lounge pants look great but I suppose when I'm kicking about the house I don't mind too much about how my bum looks but I might at work. . I know the answer is to go and try on a pair but the ones I want are very wide legged and I've never seen a pair in a shop so would probably end up buying them online.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure about the bum thing but think they make you look short. Best on tall people IMO so I would say depends on your height. TBh think fitted clothes make you look less large generally although it may seem like a contradiction.
