to make me feel better about shooting up from size 10 to 16 after baby. I want them quite smart. I'm short, still have wobbly tummy and hips, but quite slim legs. I had a pair of chocolate brown ones that I loved. Please?? On the high street if possible - I have an hour to do a mad dash to the shops on THursday, leaving 4 month ds with MIL.

oh god, trousers are really hard to recommend without seeing you, and even then it's best to try them on to check fit on waist/hips.
would advise straight wide legs to balance wibbly hips, non-low-rise to support tum, and a Petite range so they don't drag on the floor. Crease front makes legs look longer but this may not be good thing if you have long legs/short body. Next? Principles?

Not quite the season, but after having ds I bought some wide legged dark pin stripe and wore them with high heeled boots ( not for everyday ). I am short and got lots of compliments.
Enjoy your shopping

PIn stripes sound nice. I know Mrs Badger - I just hate trouser shopping and hoped some one could magic a pair up for me. Though your criteria for fit sounds good. Thank you. Will get back to watching Mumsnet on tv now!
