B leave it in the bag for a couple of days/weeks and think about it

c) try it on and return it, often buy without trying on if there are long queues.

c) Try it on (if I haven't bothered in shop) & then either hang it up in wardrobe until I have the right occasion to wear it, or take it back.

I pretty much always buy without trying on so often end up taking stuff back.
If I do try on am so exhausted and traumatised by sight of wobbly bits in over lit 3d mirrors that can't face wearing the stuff!

re-try on at home with right shoes / trousers etc and strut in front of DH to elicit compliments and prolong New Clothes Joy
then if it's right stick in wardrobe (or wash if it's stiff and horrid)
if wrong or I know it was really a mistake it goes back in carrier bag to return

Mrs B- does dh make helpful comments then..

mine says things like "that's nice..."
" is it comfortable?" ...he's not s real style icon despite being a bloody clothes horse who looks good in anything

I leave it in the bag for a while....not to think about it, oh no, but so that I can wear it and when asked, say "oh this....have had it aggggeeeeeesssssss", and be telling the truth!!!!
