It does make me laugh how many catalogues are out there, all aimed at middle class middle aged mums....

Hush
Boden
Me and Em
Mint Velvet
Sea something - Seaweed? Seasalt?

What catogues arrive on your doormat? And do you ever buy from them?!

Oh yes! I must have forgotten to tick a box somewhere... I receive (or recycling box does) all of the above plus Bjauken, Brora and expensive gift idea catalogues featuring lots of black Labradors!!

DollyDaisy · 16/02/2014 21:15

And don't forget The White Company - I seem to get something from them every week

RedPencilPot · 16/02/2014 21:19

Baujken

White stuff

Great Plains

IDugUpADiamond · 16/02/2014 21:24

Wrap
Poetry
Celtic & Co
Kettlewell

Snowdown · 16/02/2014 21:34

Celtic And co - refuse to pay their postage charges
H&m
Brora
Pure
Baukjen

It all goes to recycling I wish they'd stop and keep their marketing materials to themselves.

GoofyIsACow · 16/02/2014 21:35

Phew... None of those...

Lakeland however...!

SavoyCabbage · 16/02/2014 21:37

When I ordered from celtic and co they sold my address to everyone under the sun and now I'm inundated.

McFox · 16/02/2014 21:41

Wish I'd never opened this thread - I'd never heard of Me and Em before, but now I'm contemplating spending £100 on a blouse!!

HarrietSchulenberg · 16/02/2014 21:43

I only get Mini Boden as I've occasionally bought stuff in their sale. My postcode is a crap one (apparently we all read tabloids and are unskilled manual labour round here) and I rarely receive unsolicited marketing for anything other than Sky, debt advice, payday loans and hearing aids. None of which interest me.

My friend has a rather more desirable postcode, despite living a mere 5 min walk away. She gets the "black lab and cord skirt" catalogues but none of the other crap yhat I get.

MrsMaryCooper · 17/02/2014 07:42

Boden
Gudren Sojen
Poetry
Bravissimo
Charles Tyrhitt
Fat Face
And the pregnancy clothing ones only just gave up. DS is 6!

bettykt · 17/02/2014 07:51

sweaty Betty
Dwell
White Company
Boden
Aspace

Sonotkylie · 17/02/2014 12:20

I buy lots from Boden. OK I send a lot back too. I also buy from many of the others mentioned - and send a bit back there too. I live in an area full of black labradors and floppy haired children. And I have just realised, I hardly get any of these - only Boden, and the occasional Poetry one (never bought anything from them) and baukjen (not bought from them except when they were isabella Oliver when I was pregnant 8 years ago). What am I doing wrong?

ListenToTheLady · 17/02/2014 12:26

Oh yes.

Boden
White Stuff
Wrap
Poetry
Hush
Baukjen
Seasalt
White Comapny
... and the granddaddy of them all - fecking Peruvian Connection. If I ever buy anything from there I will know I have either woken up to find I'm well into my 90s, or lost my mind.

I blame bloody Johnnie Boden. I do buy the odd thing from Boden but I don't think Johnnie makes his millions flogging garish cardigans – no, it's from flogging my address.

Floisme · 17/02/2014 12:37

Think yourselves lucky. I get this:
www.houseofbruar.com/house-of-bruar-ladies-tweed-fringed-jacket-prodtr40300/

Snappyteabread · 17/02/2014 12:42

I too used to get many catalogues. Final straw was the amount of catalogues and mailings boden used to send me. Each time you get one in that you know you will never look at or only fleetingly, email them to get them to stop sending them. You can still check out their websites when you need to. Job done!

WhoahThereCrazyHorse · 17/02/2014 19:49

Or you can just scribble out your address, circle the return one and write 'please remove from mailing list'.

First time you weaken and buy something though, they all start again!! I agree with someone up post who said Celtic are the culprits; I haven't bought anything from Boden yet

A few years ago I started hyphenating my actual surname with whoever I was registering with/buying from. eg. Tarquin Smith-Boden or Wilma Jones-Peopletree. And now I can see the source of all letterbox junk. It doesn't make it go away, but makes me feel better because I am not baffled victim - I KNOW WHO YOU ARE (and may, or may not, hunt you down one day).

peasandlove · 18/02/2014 03:37

that's brilliant DoneWithStruggling. I might do that next time I have to sign up for something, although it's usually my email address that gets sold (I use a disposable gmail account for most stuff if I have to sign up)

SomewhatSilly · 18/02/2014 04:50

Done - who dunnit?!

Coumarin · 18/02/2014 05:54

I appear to be. I'm not middle aged and I don't have children.

At some point I clearly bought something I shouldn't have.

DoneWithStruggling · 18/02/2014 21:45

SomewhatSilly Partypieces is the worst, but most of them are at it.

southeastastra · 18/02/2014 21:47

me too, even though i am a chav. la redoute now always send me the supplements for fat women as i'm now a 14/16

Matsikula · 18/02/2014 21:59

I think that Ocado may be the culprits. They are also very clearly in league with Boden. The House of Bruar felt like a positive affront (and also, dreadful targetting - how could a regular buyer of nappies and sanpro products possibly be in their target market?)

Floisme · 19/02/2014 07:02

Matsikula I felt the same the first time I got The House of Bruar but now I quite look forward to it. Apart from being hilarious, it's like looking into a parallel universe Grin

SomewhatSilly · 19/02/2014 07:41

Just googled House of Bruar :o

Reminds me of the adverts in the back of the Sunday Telegraph as a child.
