I need an outfit to wear for dd2's christening but i just cant find a nice top anywhere ,trousers aren't so difficult as i shall just buy black or brown but why is there no nice tops? They seem to range from cami type thing that would just give my mil ammunition or horrible prints!

So what sort of thing would you like? And what shape are you? Good bits, bad bits etc?

Beauregard · 06/08/2006 21:18

very tall so long body
smallish boobs
Dont like anything too clingy as i still have wobble hips from dd2

How about one of these ? Either the silk kimono top, or the butterfly and flower print wrap top?

zoeuk1 · 06/08/2006 21:30

Beauregard · 06/08/2006 21:31

Some nice stuff at Debenhams - but not sure if the colours are what you're after? Another kimono style (and in the sale!).

JackieNo · 07/08/2006 15:30

Or (and I'm hesitating even as I'm suggesting it) there's always Boden? .

Beauregard · 07/08/2006 15:40

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm [considering the options emoticon]
Im still most drawn to the 1st kimono one that you linked to.

JackieNo · 07/08/2006 15:41

You need Mrs Badger - queen of the links - maybe she'll be here soon....

JackieNo · 07/08/2006 15:43

There's a green blouse on the Next website - the one on the right hand side?

Beauregard · 07/08/2006 15:46

MrsBadger where are you ??????????????????????????
Im doing jackieno's head in

JackieNo · 07/08/2006 15:49
  • not so much my head, more my googling skills. Where do you usually like to shop?
MrsBadger · 07/08/2006 16:07

[ahem]
am mildly preoccupied recovering from migraine and pulling a bunch of scientific child psych contacts for That Thread

but I like the idea of a kimono top for efortless elegance and concealment of wobbly bits(I have an old silk one from Monsoon with long waist ties that I trot out at least once a year).
Principles have some good stuff - particularly like the black and gold one. Worth checking out their tunics as well - one of them already mentioned in the Debenhmas link.

Coast are normally a safe bet for their long-sleeved chiffon tops with a camisole underneath but I'm not sure if they have any in this season's range.
Otherwise M&S did have quite a good line in cami-with-cardi type tops in Per Una, like the two girls on the left, one in aqua, one in red, here

any good?

ocd · 07/08/2006 16:09

green giant ho ho ho?

ocd · 07/08/2006 16:10

this with abalck skirt and coloured hsoes

Beauregard · 07/08/2006 21:11

jackieno-i shop anywhere but usually next because they do trousers long enough for me!
Thanks MrsB im quite liking the first one.
ocd-nice but i dont do skirts ,would it look as nice on with trousers?

OP posts:
ocd · 08/08/2006 13:02

Beauregard · 08/08/2006 19:34
