Highlights or low lights, and new style for hair?

I hardly have my hair cut, and when i do, its always the same way (about 2inches below sholder (sp?mand feathered). I used to have highlights in my hair, when i got married, i had it "dyed" back to my origional colour.
So, Im planning on having my hair cut, and styled etc.
Im ginger (but not bright iykwim), with hair being about 4inches below my shoulders. Now, should i have highlights, or some shade of lowlight in my hair. Cost doesnt matter, so it is best to go to my regular or somewhere else.
I've got a round face, so not sure what would suit me!

Any ideas?
Thanks

going in to winter i always knock back to a darker colour cos highlights are a pain in the winteri htink when the skin losses the summer glow but then a few highlights just aourns the face can lift it if u are feeling wrecked imo.
so a bit of both!! uselss advice you're prob saying
