I was given money for my 40th from a relative, I would like to buy something that eventually I will give to my DD.
I have simple tastes and generally only wear my wedding band and diamond stud earrings. I rarely wear my engagement ring.

Was thinking ring maybe, never wear necklaces.

Any ideas or recommendations please?

Why not buy a really beautiful jewellery box to pass on?

People have such different tastes in jewellery. You don't wear it yourself and it might not suit your daughter. You might be buying a piece that will never see the light of day. I have jewellery left to me by my mother. Its nice to have it but I don't wear gold. The things that mean more to me are the cheaper everyday things of hers that I use all the time. Fashion changes too. My mothers generation bought fur coats to pass on to their daughters but nobody wears real fur anymore.

Yes - that's a good idea. I will have a browse.

Anymore?

How about stud earrings in your or your daughter's birthstone? They could be very simple?
