Allure is lovely, also by Chanel.

Have you tried any Penhaligon? Think they are gorgeous, very rich and evocative.

Frozenatchristmas · 07/02/2014 22:35

Never heard of penhaligons but will look out for it. Will sniff allure!

Clinique Aromatics. Paloma Picasso. Assuming you like a strong fragrance.

OrchidFlakes · 07/02/2014 23:36

Estée Lauder modern muse is GORGEOUS

hollyisalovelyname · 07/02/2014 23:43

Chanel Les Exclusifs are lovely. Only from Chanel shops

bluecheesefiend · 07/02/2014 23:51

I love Chanel No 5 Premier Temps which is a lighter, more summery version of No 5. I have both & wear one of the two every day depending on what mood I wake up in Smile

Mrswellyboot · 08/02/2014 00:00

Don't know if it compares to Chanel, probably not but I recently bought dolche and gabanna original for women. It is gorgeous.

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/02/2014 00:14

Chanel No 22 (one of Les Exclusifs range; Selfridges stock the range) is better than No 5.

PiratesLifeForMe · 08/02/2014 00:18

Another vote for Allure, gorgeous perfume. Will be my next purchase!

LadyStark · 08/02/2014 00:19

Another vote for penhaligons, I have Chanel no 5 and also Artemesia (I think). Definitely worth checking out if you have one nearby.

purpleminion · 08/02/2014 00:25

I love no.5 and also like Donna Karan Cashmere Mist , D&G The One and Gucci Guilty.

LittleBabyPigsus · 08/02/2014 06:14

YSL Rive Gauche? Seconding Clinique Aromatics Elixir.

DolomitesDonkey · 08/02/2014 06:20

Jill Sander's number 4, or have a dabble with some Piguets.

FrugalFashionista · 08/02/2014 06:54

Classic and modern aldehydics:
Chanel No. 22
Caleche by Hermes
Rive Gauche by YSL
Miriam by Tauer
expensive but lovely (samples worth a try): Gold by Amouage, Vega by Guerlain
If you like classic bouquets but are looking for a change:
24 Faubourg by Hermes
For a flirty but stylish chypre:
Y by YSL

bonvivant · 08/02/2014 06:56

I'd smell the other Chanel perfumes - sure I read somewhere that there are ingredients common to all the Chanel perfumes

Morgause · 08/02/2014 07:01

Chanel 19

Frozenatchristmas · 08/02/2014 07:59

Great ideas. Thanks all very much.

I got a bottle of narsicco Rodriquez which I have probably spelt wrongly but it does have a lovely smell!

No5 is my favourite perfume. The only other one I love almost as much is Arpege which is the nearest one I have ever found to it, despite trying hundreds.

ethelb · 08/02/2014 20:41

Chanel allure
Givency organza

BlodynRose · 09/02/2014 03:58

I wear no 5 for day and CoCo at night Smile

DrNick · 09/02/2014 11:06

Prada eau de iris

scornedwoman67 · 09/02/2014 12:33

Try Estee by Estee Lauder. it's one of her classics. I alternate it with No.5. Gorgeous!

cactuscantina · 09/02/2014 16:31

I always love No 5 is my favorite but La Perla (black lid horrible bottle really) is my second fav. It's a bit sexier I think and it's pretty cheap.

Minnieisthedevilmouse · 09/02/2014 17:12

Aqua di Parma

Various types. The worlds best and long lasting perfume. Bar none.
