Can anyone find me a gorgeous dress and style me?

I wonder if anyone could help dress me. I need to smarten up for a black tie event in the Spring. I am a SAHM to two young children are rarely get the chance to dress up. I am little anxious about it and would like to look my best.

I am thinking of a lace dress maybe or something that stands out and looks very pretty. Colour is flexible, quite fancy red, for some reason, but not essential. I am willing to throw a fair bit of money at it so budget up to 300.

I am 5ft 9 and a size 10, dark hair and eyes, fairly pale skin.

Any ideas for dresses and accessories would be amazing.

sleeveless
Classic
strapless

I Lurrrve a red lace dress, but annoyingly they always seem to be ££££ D&G type stuff or cheap and shiny ... Couple of links in the middle that are making my fingers itch but I'm on a spending ban and have no glam things to go to :(

twopeasinapod · 04/02/2014 12:48

Thank you v much butter and cathy. I quite like the first but it is sold out in my size. I'm not sure I feel confident enough to wear a strapless dress as my bust has shrunk and become a bit saggy post pregnancy and breast feeding. I like the prettiness of the strapless option though.

Not sure if I prefer to go for a slightly younger look or the more elegant maxi.

Any more links/ ideas v much appreciated.

The Monsoon one is really pretty and a lovely colour. I might give it a try.

Any other ideas from the evening crowd?

I can't link for some reason by selfridges have a nice Michael kors dress in red

And house of Fraser, brand " untold" lovely one satin structured slash neck in red which you can wear a bra with and looks lovely. I'd buy it:)

Do a search in dresses, size ten, red.

It's just so perfect, to my mind.

You already have your height (+heels?) and fabulous colouring Envy - which colour do you prefer?

twopeasinapod · 04/02/2014 21:19

I love the navy too! Such a timeless style.

Red suede shoes sound like a brilliant idea mrsl or perhaps bright pink too.

yy, bright pink would work. Turquoise, coral, yellow, emerald, orange - loads of colours look fab with navy.
