80s fancy dress

I'm going to a fancy dress party at DC school

don't really know the other parents so don't want to get it wrong, but am up for a laugh

I have faded blue jean shorts and pink tights - is that a bit much? also have no idea on footwear - can do anything from blue doc martins to 6 inch white plastic shoes

I have a pink/black off the shoulder top I can wear

any ideas?

Shorts and tights sound good! Do big hair and blue eyeshadow and it'll look great

White plastic stilettos will be fine.
You could tie a scarf around your hair and back comb it.

Lots of very bright make up' think blue mascara, blue eyeliner, bright glossy lipstick and lots of bright blusher.

Leg Warner's were in too, even with the stilettos. The brighter the better.

Also lots of jangly bracelets, plastic button earrings with matching plastic beads!
