Just that, really. I don't drive so needs to be actually in Chester. Thanks in advance.

I haven't been there myself but I've heard very good things about Marcelo at www.justhairspecialists.co.uk - there's a map under 'contact us'.

Try Carole at Huntington Hair Studios. She is brilliant, many years of experience and her salon prices are very reasonable unlike city centre hairdressers!

Ooooh thank you both. I will look them up. The one I used to use is no longer there, and the only other one I've used is Toni & Guy (wasn't v impressed).

Permission to lurk?

I'd be so happy to find a decent hairdressers that doesn't charge a million pounds.

I went to the Toni & Guy on upper bridge street once because I had a voucher. It cost over £100 and the only decent thing about it was the massage chairs! The cut was rubbish and, despite me specifically asking her not to use bleach, she basically fried my hair with peroxide. It took absolutely ages to get it back into any sort of decent condition. I had to literally wait until the bleached bits grew and could be cut off.

And to top it off the, person on the till didn't know how to put a gift card through properly so I had to pay with my own money (which I couldn't afford so had to use my credit card) and go back in during the week to get it sorted.

Rant over. I have hairdressers ishoos Blush

Eek nightmare! I have VERY specific hair ideas (!) and I've always been happy :) mine takes about 3 hours to do, including wash, bleach, colour, style, trim and cups of tea and costs around thirty quid.

Now that sounds like my kind of place Blue, I'll look her up!

I go to Regis in the grovesnor shopping centre. Harriet is my hairdresser, very happy to recommend her. Parting and hairline highlights, cut and finish £59.

I live 20 mins from Chester and looking for a new hairdresser too. Do either of those recommended cut really nice stylish bobs?

TulipOHare · 04/02/2014 00:10

Downfall Regis rings a bell. Did they move there from that little street (am terrible with street names) that has Joules and Fat Face on it? If it's the one I'm thinking of, I used them once and was quite happy with it. There's a Supercuts there now and you couldn't pay me to get a Supercut again

Not sure where they were located before tulip. There's another Regis franchise inside debenhams, but I use the one just up from boodles, opposite the old monsoon.

Apple the stylist I go to is very good, I think, and I can't vouch for the other hairdressers, but I've seen them spend time over consultations with customers bringing in pictures etc.

applecrumbleandcream · 04/02/2014 09:28

Okay thanks Downfall. Going to book in once I've been paid Smile
