coming to the end of my Hypnose and although JL has 2 for £32 at the mo, it still seems steep when I'm only getting 3 months out of it.

I tried Rimmel The Falsies recommended by Sali Hughes and it was ok- not bad- but have hear good things about Max F Calorie 2000.

Used to use L'Oreal but haven't for ages and no idea which ones are good.

Any ideas- say up to £12?

Best friend has recently tried Maybelline The Rocket and raves about it. I like Avon Supershock, it's a rubber brush but the bristles are quite thick - I find rubber brushes a bit weedy for my lashes generally.

hollyisalovelyname · 02/02/2014 16:46

Avon is great.
So too is Essence- a cheap as chips brand. It's in an orange tube

bunnymother · 02/02/2014 16:49

Maybelline Stiletto waterproof mascara - buy it from eBay for about £3

Marn1e · 02/02/2014 16:50

The miss manga one gets my vote at the moment - it performs as well as any of the £££ ones I've had

GlitzAndGiggles · 02/02/2014 16:56

I like Maybelline Great lash it's a pink and green bottle. I think it's about £7

bluebump · 02/02/2014 16:57

I love the Max Factor 2000 Calorie one.

RayPurchase · 02/02/2014 16:59

Natural Collection waterproof mascara is great and only £2!

minniebar · 02/02/2014 17:00

I've recently switched to Max Factor 2000 calorie, and it's good but not quite as good if say as Maybelline Colossal (the yellow one).

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 02/02/2014 17:05

Marking my place on this. I'm sick of clumpy mascara!

spottymoo · 02/02/2014 17:07

I'm loving the soap & glory one I got in Yule Monty set I believe it's £10 but no clumpiness or gloppy just great lift and definition

ThePortlyPinUp · 02/02/2014 17:07

Don't shoot me but I'm currently using and loving the primark £1.50 mascara, I thought I'd give it a shot after find out out that their liquid eyeliner was my holy grail product and only £1. I'll be gutted if they discontinue it.

mrssmith79 · 02/02/2014 17:08

Using l'oreal False Lash Telescopic ATM and it's fab.

BuzzardBird · 02/02/2014 17:09

It's all down to the brush. I went into Dior to ask for a sample of the latest mascara that I hadn't tried and was told it is only the brush that changes and gave me a brush to use in my existing mascara Shock

thenightsky · 02/02/2014 17:10

Another vote for Natural Collection waterproof.

Jaffacakesallround · 02/02/2014 17:11

I used Maybeline Great lash in the 60s ( yes!) and tried again not long ago- it seemed very brittle and made my eyelashes very brittle and clumpy.

I need about 4 coats of mascara because my lashes are very very short. I need something that gives length and volume but won't clump .

Barry M Lash Modelling. I love this mascara so much.

ThatVikRinA22 · 02/02/2014 17:28

i tried loads - cheap and the not so cheap but i always end up going back to Max Factor Masterpiece Max (or even the original masterpiece one in the gold tube)

its about a tenner.

wins hands down.

Piscivorus · 02/02/2014 17:31

I too always end up back with MF Masterpiece Max. It is really good

Weelady77 · 02/02/2014 17:35

JML mascara don't know if you can buy separately but I bought it with the mineral foundation stuff and got it free, it's brilliant makes lashes look really long, no clumps and washes off without looking like a panda well worth £7.99 on its own Smile

bootsycollins · 02/02/2014 17:37

My favourite cheap one is Max Factor (not sure of it's exact name but it's in a purple tube and costs £10.99). I used to use Max Factor 2000 Calorie but I don't like the brush, the Max Factor in the purple tube has a curved arch brush that I love.

HelloBoys · 02/02/2014 17:48

Everyday collection 2000 long and luscious I think it's called. Cheap as chips and wear everyday.

scottishmummy · 02/02/2014 17:50

loreal this gives amazing big lashes

DisappointedHorse · 02/02/2014 17:54

L'Oreal Telescopic. I go back to it time after time, it's easily as good as Benefit They're Real.

HelloBoys · 02/02/2014 17:57

I've been looking for new mascara round this mark. Rough prices guide MAC £14 they look nice. Pixi cosmetics £12.50 and 6 good reviews. I heard LOLA was good (m&s) again £12.

Last time I tried a L'oreal or Rimmel mascara I was disappointed. I like the free small mascaras they give away (Lancôme Clinique etc) but they don't sell them.

Anyway over next few months i intend to try above so will report back.

PeskyRat · 02/02/2014 18:01

Have always used and loved Max factor masterpiece max, but it has been irritating my eyes recently and flaking quite a bit.

Have now bought this to try and its great. Goes on nicely, no clumping or flaking and non irritating.

So far, so good and quite a bit cheaper than the Max factor.
