Anyone use hair powder for volume? Are they any good?

I've grown my hair fairly long and want to try putting it up in a bun or other styles. It is very straight though with no volume.

I don't want to back comb or have to curl it first or anything - I need things as simple as possible as I am not good with hair.

I had a browse around the hair products section of Boots (a new and interesting experience for me !) and came across this

tresemme

Just wondering if this will do what I need or is there something else I should try?

Thanks

I seem to be allergic to Batiste unfortunately, brings me out in a red itchy rash. I tried another dry shampoo, no reaction but also no effect on my hair.

Much more expensive but I love Aveda Pure Abundance hair powder. But - it always turns into a liquid before I finish the jar.

I use the tresemme one..it's fine. Have used more expensive ones, but can't tell the difference.

Thanks all.

I love Aveda products too lordemsworth but unfortunately my budget is small.

Do you use the Tresemme one for updos and buns mrsdavidbowie ?

I think I'll give it a try as it's not expensive.
Any other recommendations welcome.

I've got a little shaker thing from Toni&Guy @ Boots. It doesn't do much beyond making my hair 'gritty' and dirty feeling.

I use it but then I have very short hair. I put wax on afterwards to shape it.
