My best oldest mate is 50 this month. Big surprise do literally all our old friends Will be v cool stylish and haven't seen these people in about 15 years. Cool London restaurant and then house party straight after. What can I wear? 5'5 size 12 boobs. Not sure I want or need a dress there will be people there wearing everything from jeans to ball gowns

What sort of things do you like wearing? Fancy versions of these I would imagine.

I am a skinny trousers and top girl ankle boots leather jacket parka etc. I am also getting on a bit 48 so not too much flesh. Likethis but might be too cold

I could see both working.

I think the second look nails it - cool and stylish. My only reservation is that the skirt would need to be a perfect fit so you need to try it on. The dress is perfectly nice but skirt and fake fur win hands down for me.

If you want an alternative, I've been to quite a lot of 50ths (and will soon be moving on to 60ths )and my go-to is the Me and Em ruched dress. (It's been talked about loads of times but I can link if you want.) Either V- or cowl neck, depending on how much boobage you want to show. It's very covered up but gives you an amazing shape. I just wear different shoes and jewelry, depending on the venue and I've never felt out of place. It doesn't make the same kind of statement as the leather skirt but it's a good blank canvass.

I think I have had a few of those ruched EM and Me type dresses VW style? Want something a bit different though. That dress with sleeves is nice but I think I am too top heavy for it :( Reading the details I think the leather skirt will be too long on me so am looking for another but don't want black! I also have leather skinnies lilac suede winkleickers and a grey silky blouse could just buy new earrings!

But both are a lot pricier than Mint Velvet. If you don't want to spend, the skinnies with lilac winklepickers, grey silk shirt and new jewelry all sound really good.

Restaurant is secret! Won't know until literally day before. I like that stone coloured leather skirt too. Daisy looks amazing but I am a lot older! So many great ideas thanks :)
