Toddler girls shoes - where are all the stylish shoes?

What shoes are your toddler girls wearing? DD was late to walk so she's only had one pair from clarks. She's ready for a new pair and nothing at Clarks not Start Rite really take my fancy. Where else can I look.

In summer I think I'll get her a pair of plain sandals and a pair of converse so that's sorted, it's just the next 4-5 months that I'm struggling with.

We don't really like pinks/flowers/glitter (no offence to those who do!) and that mostly seems to be what there is. I like the traditional shoes but they're smarter than what we need as she wears a lot of jeans/leggings/hoodies.

Sorry so long! Hope someone can help.

Clarkes are rubbish anyway. Go independent. Dd always ends up with pepino.

Kickers all the way.

Hard wearing, waterproof, can't be taken off and flung into the road easily and go with everything.

DD has some gold ones.

I got DD boys' shoes from Clarks. My main issue was that many of the girls' shoes were open at the top and therefore not very good in winter. So she's got some very simple grey ones with a bit of blue on the velcro. They look fine with everything except dresses so I did get a pair if girly ones too for the (rare) occasions that she wears a proper dress.

Perhaps look at Zara? My DD (2) always has a pair of Zara black leather boots and they get worn to death! Pretty stylish I think and they look good with winter dresses or leggings...

Have also found Primigi to be good.

I agree with going independent and I also really rate pepino for toddler and ricosta for older children.

Where abouts do you live?

Only1scoop · 01/02/2014 14:23

Hate Clarks... Love Agatha ruiz de la prada....Garvalin....Pediped Smile

BuggedByJake · 01/02/2014 14:25

To max has some great unusual and not too girlie shoes.

There's often lovely shoes at a decent price on this website www.zulily.co.uk

I also love kickers and I'm just about to buy a wee pair for ds who's 21 months.

Shoe station at kew gardens is brilliant for cute kids shoes. Brands that we loved Primigi, Mod 8, Pom D'Api & Camper, Ricosta and Petasil.

WhereIsMyHat · 01/02/2014 17:15

Yes, yes, yes to the shoe station, that was where I was going to suggest Snowdown. It's an amazing kids shoe shop.

Chopsypie · 01/02/2014 17:25

Kickers for us here. The only ones she doesn't ruin within days. She's currently got black patent leather ankle boots. Go with everything, and I have a treatment to top up the patent when she scrapes them. They still look good as she's had them 3 months now.

MarvellousMechanicalMouseOrgan · 01/02/2014 17:28

Bobux. Just lovely.

accessorizequeen · 01/02/2014 18:37

livie and Luca. Gorgeous. If I want something nice for the dc, I go to the local independent shop. The shoes look nicer and last longer than Clarks every time. I buy on Amazon sometimes for Ricosta etc.

sotiredfornow · 01/02/2014 19:09

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I really love [http://www.bobux.co.uk/girls/step-up/jodphur-boot-caramel these] by Bobux! So simple! And [http://www.kickers.co.uk/p/kick-hi/kick-hi-baby-%28red%29/1kf0000423rfc these] by Kickers. Neither more expensive than Clarks!

Bobux wear really well, you can polish out toe scuffs pretty successfully. They are great for G/H fittings, and they are all nicer than any of the vile pink and white monstrosities that Clarks sell!

sotiredfornow · 01/02/2014 19:18

I just noticed Zulily have a Kickers sale starting tomorrow so thanks for pointing me in the direction of that site heymammy! x
