Clothes for tall skinny women

Not a stealth boast btw. I am in fact too skinny, think scrawny but that's a whole other thread......anyway I can not find trousers to fit me. I need size 6 but long enough in the leg. I am 5 ft 8.

Any ideas? Next size 6 fits well but they don't do them in long.

I'm a 10 and 5''9 and struggle as there just aren't many tall options. Topshop have their Tall range but it is limited. If you know anyone in USA you can get some cheapish basics here oldnavy.com and they are linked to GAP, but about a third of the price, so usually have something half decent. I can do small or medium in their tall range, but medium is a bit baggy, so you would definitely be a S for baggy or XS. Their sizes are usually more generous. I'd send them to a friend to post on to you here - unless you are buying a huge amount then the shipping fee might be worth it HTH Smile

My stepmother (5'9" and skinny), has always worn men's jeans. Lee or Levis I think. They are cut narrower in the hip than women's jeans

Thanks both. Will have a look at old navy. Jeans are actually not a problem usually it is trousers.

Joe Browns usually gets a mention on here too, but they always seem a bit hippy and not as long as people make out. I have monkey arms though, so tops are my struggle. Hope you find something you like!

Next do long and extra long length online. Zara is also great for long length and slim cut.

Oh and remember US sizing is different - you'd be a 2 or 0 I imagine.

Tell me about it! I'm 5'10" and size 8 (size 6 in some brands) and find smart trousers a particular problem.

I took delivery of a large order from Gap Tall yesterday mixture of size 6 and 8's. The size 8's fitted in some styles with size 6 fitting in others. So, you should be able to find some genuine size 6's in their Tall range - not the 'modern boot' style though I can take off the size 8 without undoing the button!

What's your inside leg? 34" is the long Gap's standard range which I find just about OK. I wear a 26 waist (size 8) but I know they do smaller waist sizes in long.

Gap Tall inside leg is 37" and I've got a pair of my favourite style (real straight) in Tall (great for heels or to wear turned up) but 26 waist is the smallest size in Tall jeans and I'd say it is a true 8 as it fits me.

Good luck!

Ooh didn't know there was a gap tall range. I haven't seen it on the shops. Thanks will look online now.

It's only online. They've expanded it recently which seems to be the opposite of may retailers .

I was pleasantly surprised when I checked it out this week Smile

Uniqlo! All their trousers come super long as standard (about 34-36in I think) and they do free alterations. They do great skinny jeans, ponte type trousers and cords.
