Is there an alternative to the HOC style day?

I'm beginning to think I'm OK with colours (work in a creative job so have quite a good eye) and know roughly what suits me, but I'd love to do the style day and find out a bit more about my 'personality' and what flatters my body shape. I don't think you can do that without having had colours done though so I wondered if anyone knew of an alternative?

Check out the chicfashionista website/blog. She has an online quiz which is pretty accurate and lots of advice.

Sorry I don't know about actual in-person days, as I'm not in the UK!

Thanks, just did her quiz and I come out as a Natural or possibly Classic which is what I would have expected. Not sure how that compares to the HOC categories but not sure it's worth paying £££ to find out what I pretty much knew!

I did the HoC Style Day last weekend and was diagnosed as a Romantic Classic. I did the quiz linked to above but had such random answers that I didn't end up as anything!

The Style Day covers a lot more than your personality. It also looks at your body shape, budget, shopping experiences etc. and you end up with a whole raft of information about which specific type of clothes to look for (including lapel shapes, length of sleeves and hems, dress shapes, trousers shapes and more.

It was well worth the money!

Yes I do like the sound of that. I just wish you could do it separately from the colour thing, I'm not sure I need quite as much help there.

Hmmm, I'm no expert at all but one sort of followed the other. Also, I was really quite surprised at how wrong I'd been getting it with the colours (and style/cut) of most of my clothes! I think you can do both sessions in the same day.

You don't need to do colour to have done style, I've had several clients who have either done style before colour, or not done colour at all (am a HoC consultant).

To do style, not to have done. Typing too quickly to make sense of tenses!

Oh I didn't realise that, thanks a lot. I'd love to do both but if I could only afford one (birthday coming up so I may get some pennies) I think the style would be more useful to me personally.
