A medium coverage BB cream or a mineral foundation?

I'm 37 with dry-ish sensitive skin. I've finally realised I need to stop using foundation, I've used loads over the years and invariably it often gives me bumps under the skin and recurring spots in the same places but also manages to dry in patches across my face too. I think its the dimethicones/silicones in them.

I've been using a maybelline BB cream for a week or so and my skin is better for it. But the coverage isn't great and the colour isn't quite right. I have quite an olive complexion.

I've been reading good things about the Boots Botanics BB cream, but also about Laura Mercier mineral foundation. Obviously huge difference in price there. I don't know what to get. I've already tried bare minerals and lily Lolo and I found them itchy and quite drying.

Any thoughts before I waste my money?!

I'm currently using the Chanel CC cream and I'm finding it better than all the BB creams I've tried. It only comes in one colour which adapts to your skin tone (I've an olive tone to my skin too). The best BB cream I've tried is the Roche Posay one.
