Approaching 40 with (suddenly) rubbish skin

I am soon to turn 40 and have always been really lucky with good skin- rarely had blemishes, but for the past year I have experienced some problems with my skin. I had blemishes on my chin for awhile. These then finally disappeared, but soon after I started getting a few on my right cheek. It is not terrible- just a few red bumps, but they are always there and really bother me. My face also seems to go very red if I drink red wine and/ or if I go into a warm room. It is only this one area on my cheek, the rest seems OK. I was fitted with a Mirena coil just over a year ago and I wonder if it is related? Or is it just age? Is there anything I can do? I've never had a facial and wonder if this would be a good step or if I should go to my GP or a dermatologist?
