Hi everyone, I thought I would update you in how things ended up! Yes I have had the big chop and I am so pleased I did. My stylist Nina was a star, she insisted on coming in on her day off so she could do my hair when she was quiet and spend as much time on me as she needed to get my new style right. We spent almost an hour chatting about what to do and why, I really felt confident about everything.

Nina liked the colour I picked very much but had a few reservations about the style. She said the same as some posters about "Long Fringes" being more "On Trend" and that the style I had chosen was possibly a bit Mumsy, she felt I needed something sharper. She understood that I wanted something natural and easy and wanted me to have some options if I was not happy after cutting my hair short.

Taking everything into account Nina felt that the style I picked was a good option for a few reasons. Firstly it had some length on top so if I did regret cutting it then at least it would quickly grow into a more fashionable long fringe style, secondly when doing a major restyle she finds that if a client has actually picked a style herself it is normally a good start point for a restyle. She explained that it is almost impossible to grow back long again once it has been cut so short. She wanted to take me shorter but was a bit concerned that if she took me any shorter on a first cut I may feel scalped so we agreed that I would come back in two weeks for her to check that the colour has held and then if I want she will cut it shorter and sharper like the two extra styles in my pics if I am happy. This is the new me!

The reaction from family and friends has been fantastic, I have had loads of compliments even at work. I am so pleased with it and it has given me so much confidence that I do think I will go for the shorter option next week, what do you think?

Redoubtable · 28/01/2014 19:34

I lurked on your other thread and cannot believe the transformation- my jaw fell.
You look FAB, well done for sticking to your own ideas. You've gone from attractive to stunning.

PaperBagPrincess · 28/01/2014 19:42

It looks fantastic! Well done.

escargot · 28/01/2014 19:45

Which one are you Blush

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/01/2014 20:00

It really suits you and makes you look younger.

Bexicles · 28/01/2014 20:03

You look great, love the fringe.

OuterFromOutersville · 28/01/2014 20:07

Yay SmileSmileSmile! That looks fantastic. You look so modern and fabulous.

Go shorter - go shorter - go shorter Grin. After all, it won't take long to grow it back to the current length.

randomfemale · 28/01/2014 20:09

Love it!

TallRedhead · 28/01/2014 20:20

I went short from bra strap length hair recently. Soooo many people said no you'll miss it etc etc but I love it and also went back to go shorter!!
Yours looks fab.
Smile

NotALondoner · 28/01/2014 20:22

Which photo is the before and after? All the photos look great, though.

DrNick · 28/01/2014 20:22

The link shows loads of women

OuterFromOutersville · 28/01/2014 20:40

The befores are the 2 with long hair. The after is the first one with short hair and glasses.

OuterFromOutersville · 28/01/2014 20:41

Oh no, maybe I'm wrong about the after Grin.

escargot · 28/01/2014 20:42

I thought the after was the one in the purple top - her whole face shape and colour has changed if it's the first one with glasses Confused

escargot · 28/01/2014 20:43

Excuse me talking about you as if you're not here OP Grin

OuterFromOutersville · 28/01/2014 20:44

I think the after ones are the front and back photos of the woman with a purple top on.

Okay, I was looking at the wrong one before Confused. I still really like it, but I'd go for shorter and sleeker - definitely more like the two new ones that I think you added.

Leedsavril · 29/01/2014 09:03
