Which boots do you wear with work trousers?

I need some new boots for work. Can't be too high as I'm crap at heels and am on my feet most of the day ( currently teaching 5 year olds). I've got knee high boots for with skirts and dresses but need to replace my ankle boots. Most of my work trousers are grey/black.

Marking my place as I have the same question. In summer I tend to wear trousers and ballet pumps but that's too cold in the winter and I can't walk for long in high heels although have several pairs of shoe boots I bought to wear with trousers - but by lunchtime I'm struggling!

I wear mostly dresses for work, and in this cold weather that means knee boots - I think with trousers, I'd wear shoes rather than boots as you run the risk of looking mum-booty, and if you're limited to flat or fairly flat, even worse.

What about brogues? Comfy, smart and modern. Clarks have some fab ones. Easier to wear than you'd think, I live in mine with skinny jeans and jumpers at weekends. Also good with tights and dresses.

I'd have thought if you teach 5y, the softest comfiest pair of mum boots is exactly what you want

They are incredibly comfortable and last for ages (a friend's had hers for 25 years and counting). They also have a bit of a heel, but are very stable if you're on your feet all day. R&B do numerous variations on this shape. I also have the same shape in Nubuck with straps and a ring (they're called Ringo).

I teach ks1. I have a pair of low wedge fly boots. I live in them and are sooooo comfy.

I'm currently wearing Clarks ankle boots with my work trousers - the ones I have are called Moody Cute in black and currently in sale (sorry can't do links). They are really, really comfy - I can't do heels either!

Agree that brogues would also look good and would be a comfy option.
