Some further reductions today- I ordered a few items :)

I thank you....

DIddled · 25/01/2014 11:03

Yay! My stuff arrived this morning- I only ordered yesterday- just need to clamber into big Knicks to try on- can't be bothered just yet.

Rosie maxi is lovely but I fear much too long for my littleness- it's only £55.00 as well

What is their sizing like? Never ordered anything but love some of their stuff. I can be anything from a size 6 to 10 depending on make and style.

pinkflaming0 · 25/01/2014 15:39

Just used their fitting tool on the website which seems an excellent idea even asking if you like a snug to loose fit. Recommended size 8 though 10 is a best fit on the bust and 6 a best fit on waist and hips. Seems logical - wonder if it works?

DIddled · 25/01/2014 16:11

PJ would say average to small- long lengths though.

I am a curvy hippy 12 and I generally get a 12 in the dresses. I find that sizing tool not that helpful. No free returns though the cost of returns through Royal Mail has come down of late.

I just love their styles as they are simple and sexy- I am in my 40's and I struggle on the high street to find stuff I like, so I try and wait for sales at Whistles Baukjen Lk Bennett etc. I used to be a complete Lk Bennett fiend, but I think their last couple of seasons have been very poor , very drab and old fashioned.

Has anyone got the Sienna jumper dress? www.baukjen.com/uk/baukjen-sale/sienna-jumper-dress-grey-melange.htm

I'm not sure if I could get away with the 6. I'm usually an 8 - 10 but it says it's 'oversized'.

pinkflaming0 · 25/01/2014 16:49

Thanks DIddled. I am 5'10" so long lengths are great - I really struggle to find long enough dresses.

Curvy is good too - there is such a thing as a curvy size 8!

I also like simple and sexy (same as how I like my men Grin!) and am in my 40's

No free returns seems the only downside. Think I'll order one dress and see how I get on. Think I'll go for the classic wrap in cobalt as the purple is sadly out of stock.

tethersend · 25/01/2014 17:48

I got the Rosie Maxi and it's really, really lovely- but very long! I'm 5'6" and will have to get it taken up...

DIddled · 26/01/2014 20:24

Just tried on the Rosie and it buries me sadly, it's about a foot too long.
Really pleased with my Jessica dress though- I have it in two colours, it's very flatterering.

What colours do have the Jessica dress in DIddled? It looks lovely on the website.

DIddled · 26/01/2014 22:45

I have the black and the ink ( which is a purple colour). It's really nice. I don't have the figure of the model on the website sadly- I am quite hippy- but it still looks ok. It's double layered so holds you in.

OP posts:
blueshoes · 26/01/2014 22:58

I got the Jessica dress in the sale as well, in berry colour. It does "hold you in" - it is so snug I when take it off I feel like I am being born. It is a dress that takes no prisoners.

I have to say that male colleagues do stare a little when I wear it at work. But I am perfectly covered up and it gets compliments. I had to take up the length by 8 cm off the bottom as I am a petite 5 ft, so agree with the previous poster who said baukjen goes long.

DIddled · 26/01/2014 23:13

I don't think I would wear it for work- bit too saucy! Do you think it's ok for a black tie do- I was going to dress it up with seamed tights, heels and sparkly earrings. I have a couple of dressy dresses but I don't want to wear them?

OP posts:
blueshoes · 27/01/2014 08:22

Lol at the Jessica dress being saucy! I did ask my dh, who works in the same professional environment as I do, whether I should send the dress back and if not, whether I can wear it in the office. He said NOT to send it back, he likes it, and yes, I can wear in the office as I am covered up. But it is my hottest dress for the office so far.

I don't know how long the dress is on you but I can see it at a blacktie do, especially if the dress sits on or slightly below your knee. If it is an office blacktie do, I find people don't really go to town anyway. It is a nice sleek dress which will look nice and discreet dressed up as you suggested. The only thing is that the dress is quite restrictive - I can barely part my legs to walk so will be quite difficult for dancing, if dancing is involved.

Llareggub · 27/01/2014 08:28

I love my Jessica dress. I have a few items from Baujken and love them all except for the wrap dress. I just can't figure out how to tie it properly.

I wouldn't wear the Jessica to work. I'm a bit too curvy!

UterusUterusGhali · 27/01/2014 10:26

Is the berry colour quite loud?

blueshoes · 27/01/2014 11:08

The berry colour is quite true to what you see on the website. It will be quite bright for the office, but I tone it down with nude shoes. So far, I have only worn it on dress down Friday but gearing up the courage to wear it on other days.

Outside of the office, it is a pretty normal colour.

As a colour, it will be less forgiving of lumps and bumps than black and this dress will show every curve. In fact, I don't wear knickers with it!

I am not very curvy on top (actually quite er, gamine) so I guess it is not OTT for me in the office.

pinkflaming0 · 27/01/2014 12:46

Sounds like maybe I should go for a Jessica then as I do have a figure like the model on the website. Grin

DIddled · 27/01/2014 13:23

Blueshoes I am
Hoping not to be 'parting my legs' much :) - I will stay for the dinner and then bog off before it gets to dancing ( I am
Out Saturday also - this old lady can't do two nights out in a week)

Diddle, lol.

pink, definitely flaunt it!

DIddled · 27/01/2014 22:26

The Audley dress was lovely- but a bit too tight around the hips- sad as it is a classic style.

OP posts:
blueshoes · 28/01/2014 08:46

I really liked the Audley dress too but they did not have my size in black.
