Is it worth it? I'm a brunette with darkish eyelashes.

I have similar colouring to you. I used to get it done years ago and it did make a difference. Apparently blue-black gives a nicer effect than plain black.

Get a blue-black tint, this gives a nice effect if your lashes are dark already. I think it's worth it --I love this look and would get it done religiously if I was more organised. (I tried to do it myself at home once but it wasn't really worth the bother - too messy.)
Definitely if you have a little break or holiday coming up or a special event.

Be careful. I am allergic- my eyes were in shreds. Despite doing a skin test and all being ok.
If you can take it, blue black is great.

It hurts! And grows out quickly.

But it's nice while it lasts.

Great for going on holiday when you're in the sea etc. I wouldn't do it otherwise. I found that sometimes they put a lot on and it looked like eyeliner too. One drawback is that it doesn't thicken the lashes so if you're used to a thickening mascara it can be a little too subtle.

Never hurt me. Have blue-black.

PrincessButtercup · 22/01/2014 20:09

I have mine tinted and 'lifted' (curled) at the same time. Love them. Doesn't hurt a bit (you'll need a patch test before).

RunningGingerFreckleyThing · 22/01/2014 20:18

I think it's worth it for holiday/special occasion or event like others have said.
My eyelids flickered whenever the beautician went near them so a bit of the dye got in my eye. That bloody stings! I have it done without the cotton wool under my lower lashes now and that seems to stop the flickering.

I had it done recently as I figured it would help make me look a little more awake without putting make up on as I've a delightful 4month old who's not a fan of sleep. The results were nice, I went for blue black and it didn't sting. However it fades quite quickly and I still looked bloody tired. Would probably get it done again though as I am always forgetting to put mascara on my bottom lashes.
