I am trying to buy some nicer quality clothes and have bought this dress for day wear. Just wondering if I will wear it enough to be worth the money. I am short so it is a bit longer on me but still a flattering shape.

Sorry not worth that money , it's pretty dull.

DaftSkunk · 21/01/2014 15:34

I quite like it, but agree it's a lot of money for what it is.

SilverSixpence · 21/01/2014 15:35

ok thanks

the metallic print is nice, still maybe a bit too subtle? It is silk so I think the price is ok for the quality but maybe could get something nicer for the same money.

Hm reminds me of an accident I had in the kitchen, involving a blender and pumpkin soup..
Where were you planning to wear it? Not a practical purchase if you want to get a lot of wear out of it, silk is so delicate and such a pain to clean.

SilverSixpence · 21/01/2014 15:46

Hazlenutt Grin

Would probably wear it when out on weekends, maybe as a tunic with skinnies and a drapey cardigan over.

But if consensus is that its not sensible I will probably return

I actually really like it - bet it feels lovely.

BitOutOfPractice · 21/01/2014 16:49

I think it found have a tendency to look a bit like a sack once it's lost its crisp newness.

And if it's silk it's probably dry clean only which means if you're as lazy as me you won't get to wear it as often as you think

BitOutOfPractice · 21/01/2014 16:59

Found = could.

Jaffacakesallround · 21/01/2014 17:11

sorry but it's awful. It's shapeless like sack, not a good colour, and as far as I can see doesn't say what the fabric is. And a totally silly price.

MixedUpConfusion · 21/01/2014 19:13

Jaffacakesallround The first two words on description says "Silk dress" Grin

OP, it would be ok if it was cheaper, but for the price you could get something much nicer IMO, but if you like it and feel nice in it, go for it! How clothes make you feel is just as important as what they look like Smile

HyvaPaiva · 21/01/2014 19:17

Sorry OP but to me it's hideous. It looks like a hospital gown with stains.

SilverSixpence · 21/01/2014 20:54

Ha that last comment is priceless! I hesitated but sent it back In the end. I bought another two dresses in the sale so no regrets Smile

Jaffacakesallround · 21/01/2014 20:56

Mixed I know it said silk dress, but it didn't give the exact fabric details. some sneeky retailers say silk when they mean 10% silk and 90% viscose.

Orangeanddemons · 21/01/2014 20:59

Looks a bit like a flour sack to me. Same colours and shape...

dexter73 · 21/01/2014 21:35

I don't mind the dress but £7.50 postage is daylight robbery!!

Fairylea · 21/01/2014 21:40

Another person thinking sack here sorry.

I could make you something similar from a few tesco jute bags! :)
