Anyone successfully washed a dry clean only Whistles Bodycon dress?

I have just bought a Whistles Bodycon dress (link below) that is 95% silk 5% Elastene. It says it's dry clean only. Does anyone have the same (or similar) dress and washes it as opposed to dry clean?

I have a Miele washer with lots of cycles including one for silk so I assume it should be ok?

I wouldn't spin something that is silk and Elastene, and some silk you actually can't wash as the water stains the fabric.

I'd do a test on inside seam.

Assuming that goes ok then hand wash it gently in delicates' detergent. Once you've rinsed it, roll it carefully in a towel to rid some of the water, then on a fresh towel, dry flat.

I have same dress - let me know how you get on?

I've got the same dress. I love it and wouldn't risk it personally.

I've got a similar dress from Karen Millen. It washed OK in cool water and hand wash liquid but I wish I'd just dry cleaned it; I think it would have lasted better if I had.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I've not even worn it yet so I don't need to wash it yet but wanted to ask if anyone had tried washing it. Sounds like the vote is for dry cleaning. I'll just have to make it a special occasion dress. Thanks v much.

I've got a couple of Whistles silk dresses like this one (dress) and I hand wash it. Even if it says dry clean, I'd rather hand wash (can't afford dry clean everything).

Thanks Lady
