eyebrow dying - is there a limit to how long you can leave the colour on

i have the idea ( no idea where from) that after so long the hair wont " take" any more colour anyway so its immaterial how long you leave it on for. Is that right?

I wouldn't leave it on longer than recommended. I accidentally left mine on for 5 minutes more due to a phonecall and it really irritated my skin.

The dye stops working after 15 minutes.
But like Marylou said, it can irritate your skin if left longer.

I leave mine 45

DrNick · 20/01/2014 10:43

They fade quite quickly DrN. Fret not.

DrNick · 20/01/2014 11:08

oh no i meant dark to begin with
I know they fade, this is what has driven me to the DIY version although when she shapes AND dyes them at the salon they look loads better.

The kit gives you a teeny msacara type wand as an appplicator ; i am not sure a paint brush mightn't be better

Ah. I see. Why do you dye them if they're already dark?
Mine are fair, and I find damn all difference between home and salon dyeing. Apart from the price. Maybe if your eyebrows are dark it makes a difference to how dye takes. Or am I speculating shite?

They're a bit scrawny.

Like Mary berry ;)

Fills in some gaps. Plus when hair newly coloured it provides a "collar and cuffs" moment ;)
