I've never had a 'nice' piece of jewellery before. I've got a big birthday coming up and my husband wants to treat me to something. I'm delighted but stumped as to what to choose as ive never had anything fancier than a 20 quid necklace from top shop etc. Looking for ideas. Forget budget just for a moment- if you could choose any item of jewellery what would it be? Or do you have something already that you love? Thank you!

I would love a gold Rolex with diamonds all around the face if money was no object

I would love a Cartier Tank watch. In fact, I would love it forever.
Wouldn't say no to 1C diamond studs either.

Diamond pendant drops. Eternity ring. Raymond Weil watch with diamonds.

I like diamonds.

Either a gorgeous watch that'll last my lifetime or diamond/ pearl stud earrings.

Any Cartier diamond Art Deco watch or bracelet would do nicely.

I wear a plain Tag watch day to day, but I don't really see that as jewellery. Blingy watches will go out of fashion one day soon, they're hideous IMO. The piece of jewellery I get most wear from is my solitaire diamond pendant. Followed closely by solitaire diamond studs. Although expensive, the price per wear and enjoyment have made them the best value items I have.

A piece of antique Lalique jewellery or an emerald and diamond pendant from Boodle & Dunthorne

One of those Cartier necklaces (preferably diamond and emerald) where it deconstructs so you get a bracelet, a shorter necklace, earrings, and a couple of dress clips. (Fondly remembers drooling at the Cartier exhibition at the British Museum all those years ago.)
