42 pages of ads before the first 'article'. Women!s magazines are dreadful these days.

I used to as a teenager. That was what I spent my newspaper round money on - Vogue and Harpers. I particularly liked the Vogue beauty edition which came around every so often but do agree re the adverts. I never buy them now.

I quite like Harpers for the beauty advice.

Vogue makes me want to stab. I remember one 'tip' suggesting knotting your Hermes scarf and using it to insouciantly carry (presumably buttery and greasy) croissants back from the bakers.

Yes, and then I'll come home and take a dump on my wedding dress...

Hilarious re scarf

I think if you are interested in fashion, the newspapers or indeed mn give you the lowdown. Far better than magazines like this

so few people buy mags and ad rates are so low they have yo take that much to make the mag viable. I like Harpers, especially since the new team revamp a year ago or so

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/01/2014 20:38

Harpers has got a lot better but Jan and Feb issues always a bit blah I think.

ginmakesitallok · 20/01/2014 20:39

I misread the title and thought you were referring to Hawkins bizarre....

Financeprincess · 20/01/2014 21:04

It's easy to write a Harpers article. You simply insert the phrase "a nod to the [insert words here: suggestions include 'colour blocking' and 'le smoking'] trend" into every fifth sentence, and it's mandatory to refer to a badly dressed, posh British model as "our style crush".

specialsubject · 20/01/2014 21:09

and I'm being screamed at for saying that modelling is not a respectable career...

love it.
