£50 Next Giftcard. What on earth to buy?

debbiedowner84 · 19/01/2014 21:13

I walk into their store and want to run straight out. Is there anything at all worth buying?

I'm a 30 yo SAHM so workwear not an option. We don't need homeware either.

Help!

No help at all but I've got the same problem - £40 on a gift card and nothing in there I fancy. Thinking of buying socks......

Buy stuff for the kids in the next size up. That's what I did! Spoil yourself with some nice pjs etc - I like having nice 'cuddly' things when I don't know what to buy

MyNameIsWinkly · 19/01/2014 21:27

Their online stock is much better than in store. They do decent basics - leggings, vest tops, knickers - and some of their shoes are pretty ok as well.

Hassled · 19/01/2014 21:28

Do you need school uniform? Because that's pretty much it for Next. They do good school uniform. And knickers - the underwear's not bad.

frankietwospots · 19/01/2014 21:31

They do Joules stuff online.

I realise this won't be to everyone's taste but I saw this in Red magazine this month and have got it on order. Will wear with skinny ankle skimmers, a suede cross body bag and wedges when the weather warms up:

I've got a £50 card from Christmas, I think I'll be buying the baby clothes with it (and using my cash to buy myself bits in h&m)

southeastastra · 19/01/2014 21:32

well £50 isn't much you could spend it on pants

ilovepowerhoop · 19/01/2014 21:32

I like their skinny jeans. What about sportswear? They do branded stuff online

ginmakesitallok · 19/01/2014 21:37

I've just ordered this and this First time in ages I've bought anything from next, but some stuff seems ok this season.

SauvignonBlanche · 19/01/2014 21:40

DD (13) has a gift card and there's nothing she would wear in there.
Thanks for the online tip, she'll like this.

Picturesinthefirelight · 19/01/2014 21:41

Dd aged 12 has the same problem. She asked sil for vouchers from other shops for Xmas & got £20 of Next. She can't find anything she likes & very little in her size.

ilovepowerhoop · 19/01/2014 21:45

they do girls branded stuff online

KareKare · 19/01/2014 21:48

Agree - online is the way to go. I spent my gift card on a Superdry coat for ds. All the women's stuff is ghastly.

Picturesinthefirelight · 19/01/2014 21:49

How much are those converse t shirts????!!!!!!

Dd would love that or the pineapple but its very pricey

KareKare · 19/01/2014 21:54

Having said that, ginmakesitallok's dress is lovely and I realised I have that cashmere jumper! #hypocrite.

GlitzAndGiggles · 19/01/2014 22:01

I'd suggest their 'Just Pink' perfume. I wore it for about 3 years straight I love the stuff. And then a handbag

Trizelda · 19/01/2014 22:07

You could sell it on Ebay if you are prepared to drop a little off the face value or unless you have to tell the giver what you bought with it!

HeadFullofSteam · 19/01/2014 22:19

The only thing I really buy from Next these days for myself is jeans - they used to fit me perfectly but are a bit more hit and miss these days. However, I really like their relaxed skinny jeans. They are much more flattering on me than true skinnies. I actually bought a pale grey pair today.

I agree that Just Pink perfume is lovely. It is a bit like Ralph Lauren Romance.

Allinafankle · 19/01/2014 22:19

Ooh I'm joining in too - £50 Christmas gift card lying on the sideboard in no danger of being used any time soon!

impty · 19/01/2014 22:21

Underwear. Their reed diffusers things?

DrNick · 19/01/2014 22:53

God masses of branded sportswear. Perfect for gym

LittleBabyPigsus · 19/01/2014 23:28

Perfume. Sportswear. Shoes (I like their casual shoes). Kids clothes.

southeastastra · 19/01/2014 23:29

just buy a bloody rug blimey are you really so hard to find something to spend £50 on? would understand if it were £500

TinyDiamond · 20/01/2014 00:39

I can recommend the reed diffuser and scented candle in 'blanc white light' (or something like that) it is amazing! Smells v expensive quite like tom ford. Scent lasts ages. Do it.
