Does anyone out there wear casual summer shoes in the winter?

I'm not worried about getting cold feet, just concerned that I will look like a freak :)

It depends on the type of shoe.

I start work really early, so I often get the weather wrong. Last summer, I remember wearing a jumper on a really hot day and sandals during a downpour. I don't recall getting any funny looks. The weather in this country is so unpredictable that you can get 4 seasons in one day.

I sometimes do the school run in birkies...with socks! Does that count?

Please all save your strange looks for DD2. In vain do I suggest the £3 Primark pumps and tiny trainer liners are less than suitable footwear in the downpours we have been having lately.

It depends on the type of shoe you mean, but yes possibly if I was just going car to house

I usually have some wellies in the boot though

I wear these in the winter because I love them so much- most shoes hurt my feet or fall off but these fit perfectly and the sparkly shoes have become my trademark at work. I have to stop wearing them in the rain though because it's not nice to go about with wet feet. For ages I didn't have suitable winter shoes to wear with trousers- just two pairs of knee high boots. Last week I got two pairs of brogues and another pair of lace up shoes for a total of £32 (£6 each for the brogues in the New Look sale, they will probably fall to bits soon, £20 for Esprit suede shoes in TKMaxx which are better quality but I've never had suede shoes before and don't know how long I can keep them looking nice) as the sparkly slipper situation is not sustainable. Never thought I looked like a freak though!
