If you have hazel eyes, what eyeliner/shadow do you wear?

I've been looking at Charlotte Tilsbury eye pencils but slightly put off by the poster who said she ended up with glitter on her cheeks by midday.

What colours do you use to accentuate your eyes?

I use a grey urban decay one which is brilliant- and nearly finished! I've also got the purple and the brown from the same range. They stay in really well with out giving you glittery cheeks!

CrispyCrochet · 18/01/2014 14:48

Hi OP. I second the poster above about urban decay eye liners. They are fab. Also, I've had pretty good success with liquid glitter eyeliners from most brands that do them. As far as colour, I think purples suit most eye colours. I like dark purples that almost look black on but not as harsh.

SavoyCabbage · 18/01/2014 15:21

I've got a maybelline set called (I think) Enchanted Forest and the purpley colour in there is amazing with my hazel eyes.

littlepeas · 18/01/2014 15:28

It depends on the make up of colours and which colour you want to stand out surely? Mine are grey/green with golden brown around the pupil - if I go with purple then they look green, but greys just make them look grey (which I quite like as I match my sons). If I just do black liner then the brown stands out more. If I stand against a blue wall then they look blue! It's the joy/frustration of hazel eyes!

Avon glimmerstick in majestic plum and it's about £5.

Ratfinkle · 18/01/2014 15:36

this the description doesn't make it obvious but is is for hazel eyes.

I think it is a bargain so worth a go... only two left though!

TallulahBetty · 18/01/2014 15:46

Avon Glimmersticks eyeliner in Saturn Grey.

ProjectGainsborough · 18/01/2014 15:49

I like the idea of matching my eyes to my children! Seems like there's a consensus on plum, too. I'll give it a go, thanks.

I use light or dark brown eye liner, and browny/grey/pinky/creamy earthy colours, also glittery, shimmery metallic colours...

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/01/2014 15:52

Grin i have Avon in Saturn Grey ( years old, still working)

Hazely / brown eyes here (I call them brown but they are lighter than DD. I have large black pupils but the actual iris is hazelly) If that makes sense.

I love :
Barry M Metallics in the dark grey and the purple but not the silver Confused
I have a Body Shop silver and teal

Various random jade green

Mally Beauty eyecrayon (thin ones) in brown, dark green. mauve

Navy but has to be dark not a blue

Never found a gold that's proper gold though.

SomewhereBeyondTheSea · 18/01/2014 15:54

I use violet noir eyeliner pencil from Laura Mercier, and a couple of mid-grey shadows from MAC (not both at once !).

I'm not a fan of browns and the makeup lady in Space NK said a touch of purple would bring out the green tones in my eyes.

hellymelly · 18/01/2014 15:58

I love the charlotte Tilbury pencils. Depends on what you mean by Hazel though. Hazel should mean a sort of light golden ambery brown, but often people say hazel when eyes are closer to green. My eyes are mostly green, I have the CT pencils for green eyes and they are really flattering. No glitter in mine, but I bought the ones for blue eyes for my friend and the evening one has glitter in it. The whole CT range is fab actually, at least all the things I have bought have been great.

weirdthing · 18/01/2014 16:04

I use purple/grey/copper eye shadows. I don't use eyeliner, just a sweep of shadow under the eye.

I use the most gorgeous shade of reddish-brown, I think it is praline, by boujoir. I haven't seen it for years but I bulkbought them ages ago - maybe they still make them. THE perfect shade for my largely green hazel eyes. I find if I use grey/brown they don't 'pop'. My favourite eyeshadow is by shu uemera - it's M851 I think, not completely sure if that's the right code can't find it - kind of a taupey mushroomy plumy brown

cafecito · 19/01/2014 00:01

maybe it's ME856

ProjectGainsborough · 19/01/2014 09:52

Pleased to hear the Charlotte Tilbury pencils get a good review, I love the look of them and really wanted to waste some money on them

I think they are stunning. I bought them for various friends for Christmas as they are so good. I also have an eyeshadow palette and the blusher with the central dot of stronger colour is great. I haven't tried the foundation yet, as I don't wear it often.

lookdeepintotheparka · 19/01/2014 12:46

Wore brown/gold shades for years until I met someone with a similar eye colour to mine wearing navy blue shadow and it looked amazing! Bought some for myself and now wear that every day with black liner. I don't know how/why it works with brown eyes but it does (I wear a lot of cobalt blue shades so maybe that's why!).

hellymelly · 19/01/2014 13:03

Agree Navy really brings out the gold in hazel or light brown eyes. Looks stunning I think.
