Can I wear brown boots with black trousers?

For casual every day wear? I have a complete aversion to black shoes and boots and only ever wear them for work, when I have to have them as part of a uniform. Out of work I usually wear jeans or black trousers. Can I get away with brown boots or would a tan colour be better?

What about burgandy/oxblood?

I'm not a brown/tan shoe person so I wouldn't wear brown with black but I've seen people pull it off OK.

I live black and tan together - very classy Not as fussed on black and dark brown though..

I would if I was wearing a similar coloured top or brown accessories.

I've got a brown leather handbag which i use most days .... so i might get away with it?

That would work. Black and brown is lovely together. Maybe a brown neck scarf and all black outfit to go with your boots and bag?
