What to wear in feet with frocks in winter?

I wear a lot of boden vintage and shift dresses with cardis . I wear ballet flats in summer . Ankle boots don't flatter me at all! What do you wear with similar looks in winter please?

Are you wearing tights? Would depend what colour...

Knee or calf boots, biker boots, patent low heeled courts (preferably block heel), Lace up low heeled brogues, pointed croc stye flats.....there are many choices if you don't like ankle boots.

It would also depend upon the length of the dress. For shorter dresses I would opt for my low or flat heels, with mid or higher heels when the skirt hits my knee. Not that there's any rules on this, of course.

Shift dresses and cardi's would go well with the nice little pointy low heels for me (or flats).

I love the first pair! I wanted them in autumn but my local store didn't have my size, so wound up buying something similar (but less decent) from Asos.

I don't think any of those are overly 'trend' focused though, and can imagine anyone of any age looking great in them - especially the first, which are quite a classic style.

I associate 'young' footwear with those huge rugged soled biker things at Zara! (platforms, etc).

I hate to say it but I can't stand any of those linked. They're all incredibly frumpy in my view- and I'm 40, no young thing!
Personally, OP, I wear chunky mid calf biker boots with dresses in the winter.

That's fair enough!
I'll admit, I plucked the biker boots out of my arse there, they are certainly youthful (as in current), but I loathe the 'mutton/age appropriate' brigade, so I'm with you in all honesty.

I'm 40 in a few weeks and have no intention of giving up half the stuff often touted as too young around here. But that's another thread.

Do love my sensible pointy shoes though Grin
