Can the zip in knee-high boots be replaced and if so, how much could it cost?

My riding-style boots are only a year old but the zip is starting to go funny where the ankle crease is. I just know it's on borrowed time... but will the cost of replacing the zip be extortionate? I suppose a regular shoe repair place would do it.

Please share your experiences if you'd had to do this. Thanks!

Reading with interest as the zip on my favourite pair of boots went ping yesterday.

No advice though, sorry. I was going to get in touch with the shop where I got them and see what they recommend.

I had a zip replaced on a pair of mid length boots last year at a clothing alteration place near me. She charged about a tenner iirc.

Well worth it imo if they are nice boots :-) Not sure about shoe repairers, haven't been to one in donkeys years. I guess they'd do it but not certain.

Thanks - I will ask my alterations place.
The boots are only a year old and cost me £100 (a lot for me) so I definitely hope to have them a few more years!

I had this done when the zip broke. I think it was about £25? It wasn't extortionate though.

I had the zip in a couple of boots replaced by a saddler, and she charged £20 - and did a really good job with very strong zips

The zip on my favourite knee-high boots went about a year ago. The shoe repairer charged about £30. I did think twice about it, but I've had another year's wear out of them, so worth the money.
