Sleep for 'stilling' the mind I recommend this book. It's an 8 week programme. I am on week 2 and am amazed at how much it has helped me to manage the constant 'brain chatter' I have going on. I expecting to be a new person in 6 weeks time

Ooh I got an 8 as well. My old DvF dress is a 10 but a very fitted style and I am slimmer now then when I bought it.

The size 10 was sold out anyway.

Linus you should go for the dvf dress, a good investment.
I think I trump all of you as dh and I got married after only meeting briefly once it was arranged. It was just how things were done in our families back then. Luckily it was the right decision

Yes but I put on 3.5 stone during my pregnancy it's all gone now but I still have to tone up by the summer! I'm very wobbly under there.

Dry that is a gorgeous dress. Linus I loved O N-J's final Grease outfit, my 15 and 34 year old self thought she looked amazing!! Apparently they had to sew her in to those trousers !

I have fallen off the shopping wagon today and bought Decam's DVF lace top, Shop's AV Jumper and another AV sweater .

Also considering an impulse Pashlii purchase, some Uniqlo cashmere which is currently on offer at 49.90 and these J Brands.

Justa quite a few women I work with have had arranged marriages. I was asking one of them about it one day (she was getting married the following week and had only met the guy twice) and I was asking how she felt about it and she explained that her parents are besotted with her and his parent adored him and both sets of parents would only want their child to be with the best possible person for them so why not? She completely changed my perception of arranged marriage!

Lovely dresses Linus, Decam, Santa & Stokey have I kept up?, slightly befuddled by rose and Baileys, whilst trying to follow plot of Silent Witness, and beautiful bag Liberty.

Liberty It is a hard thing to get if you are not from the culture and it does not always work either but in my case dh is the best, we are so well suited and he is my best friend. Two of my good friends got married at the same time as us in a non arranged way and both are miserable and headed for divorce. There really are no guarantees either way. Things are generally speaking very different now, lot of couples are meeting at work or at uni and it seems far less go down the traditional arranged route.

As you say Justa there are no guarantees in marriage. My grandparents marriage was set up by a 'matchmaker' in Ireland in the 1930's. From what I know they weren't very happy.

It's lovely to hear you describe your DH as your best friend. One of the nicest men I have ever met was a strict Muslim man who was on my team - he worked with me while I was pregnant with DD and he was so kind - would always notice when I looked a bit pale etc with nausea and would rush off to make me tea, open windows in the office etc. We used to have great chats about Muslim/Catholic culture. His marriage was arranged and he adored his DW. He said though that he would only get involved in arranging his own children's marriages if they asked him too.
