Do you...

  • love fashion (high and low end), style, beauty?
  • spend way more time than is healthy for anyone thinking about the contents of your wardrobe?
  • wish you had the nerve to apply for Mastermind with your specialist subject being the history of H&M collaborations?

If so come and chat! Hugs and kisses allowed

QueenC the trick is to actually empty your things out onto your bed rather than just swishing through hangers. That's how I found stuff I'd forgotten about and it makes you really look and think about every item.
Then I asked myself "will I ever wear it again or am I keeping it because it's lovely?"..... If I will never wear it it goes. but there are still things in there I just can't part with Wink

Drywhiteplease · 15/01/2014 20:28

Ooooh I've had a brainwave.....Novice I think I could help you sort your jewellery out with my new found decluttering skills Wink

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/01/2014 20:37

QueenC I think it was me that mentioned the flares (and umlauf and santa joined in). I think in order to not look dated at the moment they need to be touching the floor, almost so shoes don't show. At least, that's what all the pins I like of them have in common! I have an old pair too from when they were in lots of shops, which are ankle length - that's something for my bin bag...

Never counted my shoes but I don't have loads, or anywhere near 100. Probably under 25 pairs. I have had foot problems in the past and am convinced I've got very strange shaped feet, so am picky about footwear.

QueenCadbury · 15/01/2014 20:37

Sadly I don't think there's anything in my wardrobe that I've forgotten about. I'm pretty ruthless twice a year when I'm putting the winter stuff way and getting the summer stuff out and vice versa.

QueenCadbury · 15/01/2014 20:43

blair I'm getting old. I couldn't possibly have my jeans trailing on the floor and I'd probrably trip up on them Grin.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/01/2014 20:48

Hehe QueenC! I only meant a little bit, like this. Am worried now though that I'll fall over in mine if I leave them too long Wink

libertychick · 15/01/2014 21:06

Great to see you MrsR and good to know you are lurking Smile

Well done Dry. Like QueenC I clear out fairly regularly but I do have some things that I'm holding onto that really should go.

Shop what a shame about the Ganni jumper - the AR website doesn't do colour well. I returned a Julie Brandt top and scarf as the colours were not as shown at all. Think Linus and Decam have had the same problem.

Anni and Decam thanks for the DVF bag feedback - I think I am going to get it.

Hello ladies,

I have a big old pair of 70's style flares that I love but can only wear with heels and even so they skim the floor. I fell flat on my face once trying to run for the bus! Should dig them out and wear them again.

Today I'm lusting at this gorgeous Stella McCartney dress the Gary Pepper girl is wearing.

Drywhiteplease · 15/01/2014 21:09

Blair that is my favourite jean style. I loved wearing my jeans like that, with really high heels, the only time my legs ever looked long Sad ....just feels dated now I kept my skinny boot cuts just Incase they come back in Wink

AmberNectarine · 15/01/2014 21:22

Fedup - not 100 pairs of knickers, shoes! I've probably got about 15 pairs of knickers.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/01/2014 21:28

Do it Because! Now I want to get QueenC and Dry wearing them again too... and I want "long" legs.

Fedupnagging · 15/01/2014 21:29

Yes Queen I have about 30 pairs of shoes /sandals and 6 pairs of boots - have got rid of a few pairs but not enough. Today I bought these which look nicer on than the picture.

I am after a cross body bag and quite fancied this but until I can afford it, bought this. Tbh my budget was £100 but didn't find anything I liked.

There were some 7/8 trousers in jigsaw in yellow which I may order although not sure about yellow trousers?

BecauseIsaidS0 · 15/01/2014 21:29

Ok this weekend I'm pulling them out and even taking a picture for you ladies Grin

QueenCadbury · 15/01/2014 21:36

I'm still not entirely convinced although I'm sure that grazia has said this week that skinny flares are back in. Also for once I'm ahead of the curve as baker boy hats are the next big thing according to polly vernon.

Fedupnagging · 15/01/2014 21:36

Oops, Amber am Blush!

Forgot to mention that my 74yr old dm bought this dress. She is only 5'1" (1'' taller than me!) so is almost ankle length. She looks stunning in it. She thought it might be a bit 'old fashioned' but I love it on her.

justasecond · 15/01/2014 21:37

I am scared to count how many shoes I have. I estimate it may be between 60-80 Blush I fear a clearout is needed as many are going out/ evening shoes from pre dc that are prob v dated now. I never go anywhere now that requires fancy shoes. I really wanted to buy the Russell and Bromley Rockstuds a likes in the sale the other day. They looked lush on but there is not a single occaision I could think of to wear them also could not walk in them
Love the Gucci disco bag, saw it today (from afar as I had ds with me) in the westfield shop. Lots of great colours to choose.
Welcome to all the newbies! I bought the Armani Luminous silk foundation and pressed powder. After my extensive and I think exhaustive sampling of foundations I think this is The One.

shopafrolic · 15/01/2014 21:38

Santa that was a good spot! sorry it missed it.
Blair if he said it series before last it wouldn't have been a compliment. This last series I reckon it would be :)
I don't have loads of shoes anymore, I got rid of loads of my old 'going out' shoes that I used to wear to bars and clubs as that lifestyle has gone now. I've just got a couple of pairs of classic heels, and my Gina's. I probably own more pairs of ankle boots than anything else.
Dry did you deliberately stop at 5 1/2 bags? I can imagining you looking at DH and sang " yeah well, if you think this is bad then Shop had 6 bags" Grin
QueenC did you see my question about pin earlier?
Pilates hurt but in a good way. More physio tomorrow. By next week I'll have the spine of a woman half my age :)
VWA dress has despatched already! I bloody love NaP.

justasecond · 15/01/2014 21:39

Queen They keep saying flares/bootcuts are coming back but I'm not convinced. Have not seen many fresh looks with them.

justasecond · 15/01/2014 21:41

Really love that dress Shop sure it will look great on.

justasecond · 15/01/2014 21:42

Liberty meant to say I really like that dvf bag. A good buy, will go with lots.

Drywhiteplease · 15/01/2014 21:49

Shop so excited for you about the dress Smile funny about my 1/2 bagGrin
QueenC I've stopped getting excited about the return of skinny boot cuts, it never seems to actually happen Sad

QueenCadbury · 15/01/2014 21:50

shop yes I name changed on pin as well as making some of my boards private.

libertychick · 15/01/2014 21:52

QueenC can you pm me your new pin name?

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 15/01/2014 21:53

Cool. Thanks Queenc . I thought it was still you as I saw the Kate Moss board but couldn't see your fab VW dress anywhere so wasn't sure....

Fedupnagging · 15/01/2014 22:01

Doesn't VB still wear skinny flares? I always like what she wears, quite understated but very effective.

The trousers are French Connection here not Jigsaw.
