Do you think John Lewis (or similar) will exchange this Clarins set?

I have just been given a belated Christmas gift of a Clarins set which is very kind and thoughtful, but of all the Clarins products that I use, the three in this set I don't use and won't use.
The gift set is sealed etc. do you think it's worth me going and seeing if they'll exchange it?
TIA

Always worth a go imo.

Remember if you have no receipt they will usually only offer you the most recent price which, for a gift set, may be less than half what was paid so you may be better selling it on Ebay or something

I put any unwanted bits like this aside for re-gifting / passing on school tombola (although obv you wouldn't necessarily put Clarins in the school bring and buy)

Thanks guys. If I can find another reason to go shopping in town, I'll head to JL and ask. Theycan only say no huh?

I think there's a reasonable chance they'll exchange for other Clarins products if it's unopened. Clarins are generally pretty helpful.

Not quite the same but I had a perfume I wanted to exchange and they said as long as it's sealed they'd be happy to exchange it

I had to do similar a couple of years ago (ex had bought me a lovely set from DS but it was a brand I used). It was awkward to ask for a receipt so I went into John Lewis ( I knew form DS ex had gone there) and asked what I could do. They gave me gift vouchers to full value which I was absolutely happy with. Lovely service from JL again.

Thanks guys. I shall definitely make the effort now. It's a lovely gift, just not for me Smile

I have the same problem, unfortunately when I looked my set was about a 1/3 off in the sale. I am probably just going to keep for when I run out of usual stuff. I don't even use Clarins.

EasterHoliday · 12/01/2014 20:44

you don't want to swap it for the Clarins eau resourscante gift set do you? my mother has given it to me for christmas for 3 years on the trot. I use the red one...

mckenzie · 12/01/2014 21:07

Ha ha Easter holiday! That's the one I've got!! And I use the red too. Maybe the blue set was cheaper Grin

hahahaha! I'm sure they'll swap it for the red one for you. In the meantime, mine are backed up in a cupboard. Not good for regifting until nexxt christmas because there are baubles all over the box

mckenzie · 13/01/2014 14:56

John Lewis swapped it no problem. The assistant did check each product very thoroughly for any sign of usage but that was absolutely fine. Why don't you take your ones in for exchange EasterHoliday?

Good news mckenzie. JL do tend to be very good about exchanging stuff.
