jeans to fit someone with hideous post baby belly?

My stomach got stretched during pregnancy, and I'm now left with a saggy fold of excess skin that hangs down to my thighs

I've been living in skirts and tights, with the skirts just a size bigger to accommodate the wreck that was once my belly, but I'm desperate for a pair of jeans. The problem is that I can find jeans that fit well in the leg and round my bum but then I have to lift the belly skin over the top of them to do them up, or if I go for a pair that can fit in all my belly then they look ridiculous as they're obviously too big for the rest of me.

I just has a c section (well not just, few months) and am wearing hold on knickers until I get back into shape and they are doing the trick

Find a pair of higher-waisted jeans. If you go into a good denim shop, they'll be able to help you find some that work. Avoid anything with a 'low rise'...Also, longer and blousier tops are your friend; avoid those that hit at the waist Boden, I'm talking to you! GAP probably a good bet for both of the above, Zara is great for trendier tops. I wouldn't spend too much if you think your shape might change a bit.

What are hold on knickers!? Are they like control pants or are they something new and magic that I've been missing out on?

Ooh...forgot to say that Spanx has control top long knickers (meant for wearing under trousers) that are brilliant for post-partum saggy-tum.

Mrswellyboot · 10/01/2014 23:31

Trying error! Hold in, yes sorry firm control ones

Omg though, dh did the washing and I nearly died. I said they were for the gym Blush

Next high waisted lift slim and shape are good. I have a big but quite low tummy (psrt c section, ,part genetics and choc!) And big hips with a relatively small waist and they are pretty good. I'm also a live in dresses girl normally

YY to the next high waisted jeans. Two babies in two years and these hide my big saggy stomach! Very good fit on the legs and bum too.

jennimoo · 11/01/2014 09:42

I like the next ones too but suggest you buy them so they only just do up as on the second wear they seem to grow massively! There are loads on eBay as people wear them once then find they're too big!

Mikkii · 11/01/2014 09:53

I sound a similar shape to you and I am wearing Gok Wan for Sainsbury's skinny fit. I do need a belt on them as they are stretch (or they slide down) and yes to longer tops.

Mikkii · 11/01/2014 09:54

BTW I am a size 20 and didn't think I'd ever wear skinny fit!

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/01/2014 11:11

Oh yes agree re the next ones. Mine had a slight muffin when I bought but were great within half hour of being on

ThereIsNoEleventeen · 11/01/2014 12:38

Have you got some spanx happydutch? I will order about 4 pairs (the ones that come up to your bra strap) later on in the year as my poor tummy is always trashed postpartum. Fat face jeans seem to fit fairly well, their tops also seem to be roomy enough to fit too.

MacaYoniandCheese · 11/01/2014 17:51

Forgot to say that as I'm sure you know post-baby bellies are never hideous. Stretch marks and saggy bits are a badge of motherhood Grin.

Asda do some great bum and tum jeans, as do Tesco.

lotsofcheese · 11/01/2014 18:58

I like the M&S body shape jeans, where there are 3 options depending on your shape. There are different leg lengths too.

I got the Lana Slimboot ones & they are high waisted enough to deal with my post-CS belly.
