and what would you wear them with?

What do you all think of these shoes?

Love them. Would wear them with yellow tights, a blue pencil skirt and black high necked blouse. But I understand that wouldn't be everyone's choice Grin

They'll go with loads of stuff.

tethersend · 08/01/2014 12:51

Where are they from?

burnishedsilver · 08/01/2014 12:54

I'd wear them with support tights, a housecoat and rollers. Sorry.

SugarHut · 08/01/2014 12:56

Do you have very skinny calves? Chunky shoes need skinny calves or they make the whole lower leg look clumpy. I'd wear a tightish wrap dress and some very oversized gold jewellery to keep with the chunky look. No black and white, or you risk looking a little like a waitress :)

higgle · 08/01/2014 12:58

They are Duo, and I have a pair in light brown. Very comfortable and good with skirts for work. Mine look good with coloured tights too. they actually look far nicer than this picture suggests.

IDugUpADiamond · 08/01/2014 13:01

Yes they are from Duo. I don't own any shoes, only boots. Sometimes I need a different look (away from boots) but feel that shoes in general make me feel silly, like I'm dressing up. I love the chunkiness of these shoes. I don't have big calves at all.

They are lovely and agree they would look nice with a pencil skirt and opaque tights.

SugarHut · 08/01/2014 13:03

I think they'd look much much nicer in the brown, like higgle has

IDugUpADiamond · 08/01/2014 13:05

Yes I might go for the brown too as they are heavily reduced. So say for job interviews, black pencil skirt, those shoes (in black) and what else?

OP posts:
tethersend · 08/01/2014 13:10

I've just bought a brown pair, thanks Smile

Black pencil skirt, pussy bow blouse and black waistcoat would look good.

Will you need a suit for the interview?

IDugUpADiamond · 08/01/2014 13:14

Tethersend what size did you get? Because I'm always a size 5 (38) but with DUO I'm a 4 (37). Mind you, I do always order wide fit.

So what colour blouse?

The interview is not real (yet), I'm just getting the outfit ready for when it happens [optimistic] Grin.

OP posts:
tethersend · 08/01/2014 13:20

Hmm, I wanted to get a 7 wide, but they were out of stock, so I've ordered an 8 as I'm usually an 8. Crossing fingers!

IDugUpADiamond · 08/01/2014 13:23

Fingers crossed for you too!! Let us know when they arrive and I'd love to know what you're planning to wear them with.

dexter73 · 08/01/2014 13:41

They are lovely and a total steal. I am having to sit on my hands as there are lots of very nice, very reduced shoes and boots on that site!

IDugUpADiamond · 08/01/2014 13:58

And they are so comfortable; only problem is that they charge £5 delivery per pair and if they don't fit you have to pay for returns, and their sizes are all over the place!!

OP posts:
IDugUpADiamond · 08/01/2014 17:29

Sorry to insist but I really do need to know. If I wear those shoes and a black pencil skirt, what top?

OP posts:
tethersend · 08/01/2014 18:23

It really depends on the kind of job you're going for- I would always err on the side of being too smart, so would wear a suit jacket with it, either to match the pencil skirt or over a dress. Or with the waistcoat and pussybow blouse I mentioned earlier.

A dress like this would work well.

IDugUpADiamond · 08/01/2014 19:04

Thank you tethersend, but what colour blouse?

OP posts:
DrNick · 08/01/2014 19:04

I have skinny legs. Love heeled loafers.

tethersend · 08/01/2014 19:08

I'd go for something patterned, but most colours would be ok. What's your colouring?

Financeprincess · 08/01/2014 19:28

Oh dear. I don't like them at all. They look like the shoes my 55 year old A level physics teacher used to wear in 1988.

IDugUpADiamond · 08/01/2014 19:56

I think I might be a soft summer but this is self-diagnosed. I have blonde highlights on brown hair, brown eyes and medium pale skin.

OP posts:
lurkingaround · 08/01/2014 20:03

I like them.

tethersend · 11/01/2014 20:47

Oh Lordy. Mine just arrived and they are the perfect size and incredibly comfy.

Thanks IDug Smile

MissBeehiving · 11/01/2014 20:57

You've just reminded me that I have some similar which I'll dig out for work this week. I'm aiming for a kind of hot Miss Jean Brodie look Grin
