I need some good quality black leggings

I got some nice ones last year from M&S which were thicker than normal but I appear to have rubbed them thin where my fat thighs meet. Blush

My cheaper, thinner ones haven't ever done this even though I've had them ages.

But I prefer thicker ones, just want to last a bit more. Am I asking for the impossible?

boden! they are a bit pricey but the quality is great and they don't go see through. I buy a pair each season now so that I have managed to get rid of all my old cheapy ones. Otherwise I quite like maidenform leggings they have an element of shapewear built in though so not suitable for very day.

VivaLeBeaver · 08/01/2014 12:34

Thanks, will get some Boden ones.

I recommend the Mint Velvet ruched leggings. They're around £15 and last really well.

fedup21 · 08/01/2014 12:41

Wallis-very thick, very stretchy and have a very wide comfy waist which sucks your stomach in and doesn't cut you on half. They also wash brilliantly-I have 4 pairs ;)

TwatWeevil · 08/01/2014 12:42

Boden leggings are the best I've had.

SunnyRandall · 08/01/2014 12:43

I have some from Next. They were £18 and are absolutely fab. Really thick, nice wide waistband, don't bag at all even if I wear them for two days in a row and I love them.

here

I have seen the sainsburys £10 for one pair leggings recommended on here. I have some in grey and am pleased with them, but our store had sold out of black in my size.

Flangeofmingetown · 08/01/2014 13:00

Primark does these fleece lined thick opaque footless 'tights'. They are not at all transparent and are better than most leggings in terms of wear.

Boden ones are good too.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 08/01/2014 16:40

The sainsbury luxury ones are good too but size down as they come up large and then the ankles are baggy. The only thing that stopped me buying anymore is that they've faded whereas my Boden ones are still black.

TheBuskersDog · 08/01/2014 17:03

I have the Sainsburys luxury ones and really like them, I also have the Boden - they are nice but quite thin, though not see-through.

polyhymnia · 08/01/2014 17:27

Boden.

DameDoom · 08/01/2014 19:04

Lysse leggings are fab. You can get them in John Lewis. They come up much higher and have a hold you in band and are thick. I live in mine at the weekend - mine haven't gone baggy and I've been wearing the same pair for a year - they have faded a bit but like I said, they've been well worn. They are around £50 but worth every penny.

laurz75 · 08/01/2014 19:37

Agree with luxury Sainsburys ones. Also recommend to size down.

dontyouknow · 08/01/2014 21:40

I've got the Next ones too and they are really good.

Chocolategirl7 · 09/01/2014 20:46

I've got the Next ones and think they are fab. But buy the more expensive thicker ones (£18) not the cheaper, thinner ones.

sleepdodger · 09/01/2014 20:48

Hah lux saino here too!

VivaLeBeaver · 09/01/2014 20:53

Are they next ones ok length wise? There's a review from a 5ft2" person saying they're too short??

OP posts:
SunnyRandall · 09/01/2014 20:58

Well I am 5'9" and the regular length is perfect on me Confused

VivaLeBeaver · 09/01/2014 21:11

Thanks.

I like the look of the Next ponte ones (I bought some of the £9 regular ones for my 11 yo DD. She grows far too quickly the lavish £18 on leggings)

Me on the other hand, I've stopped growing.

I read the 'too short for 5'2" ' as well and though Confused

weasle · 09/01/2014 23:12

Boden.

polyhymnia · 09/01/2014 23:19

Boden again .

1gglePiggle · 09/01/2014 23:24

I wasn't that impressed with boden. Sent first pair back as got holes in them really quickly and they are quite thin.
My best ones were from warehouse about 5 years ago, still going strong!

SunnyRandall · 10/01/2014 06:48

I wasn"t impressed with Boden - for the price. A bit thin and shiny.

ShreddedHoops · 10/01/2014 06:57

Sainsburys luxury leggings here too, and yes to sizing down! Nice thick high waistband and good long length, have kept their shape v well. £10 for a pair, and they often have 25% off clothing.

I've had Next ones and they were the worst I've had, horrible viscosey rough feel that bagged after first wash and low waistband (just why?) but they were the cheaper ones.
