... And they appear to have accidentally made the Mini Boden designs in adult sizes.

Or do adult women actually want spots and stripes on everything, and all pastels. Seems more like what dd (2) would want to wear!

I thought that when I saw the yellow with white polka dots cropped bistro trousers...

BikeRunSki · 06/01/2014 17:31

And the blue and white horizontal striped shorts!

oh its all horrible.. note the flowery blazer, the wool bistro crops in all sorts of headachey patterns topped off withthe and the silver brogue chelsea boots!!

I cant find a anything id possibly buy, except perhaps grace dress in blue (£99 Shock or the Evie dress in blue perhaps, but at £89!! - no way!

TBH I havent bought anything for a while though , last summer was ok ish. but i didnt buy . but Autumn winter was totally Yuk also .

I used to be regular customer but they have gone completely wrong IMHO

AndTwoBits · 06/01/2014 18:20

Their elasticated pumps look fab. Im afraid to order them though, i have never ever owned a comfortable pair of pumps.

NotJustACigar · 06/01/2014 18:23

Whoa those insane striped shorts are £45!!! Have they lost their minds completely? They look like cut-offs made from a prison uniform.

Jaffacakesallround · 06/01/2014 18:25

There's not a lot new in it this time and some online dresses are not in the catalogue.

The flowery blazer is Mary Berry- didn't you twig :)

Aimed at yummy mummy bakers no doubt.

I'm a bit puzzled how they have got reviews 2 months old on the cashmere cardis because those reviews are for old stock not the new colours.

Laska42 · 06/01/2014 19:32

jaffa heres a a secret , I didn't know because I have never seen the bake off programme and only seen Mary Berry in a magazine isn't that aShock?!
Its still a foul blazer though

Laska42 · 06/01/2014 19:35

and (oh god) and there are two flowery blazers ( I was referring to the one on page 63, but they are both utterly, utterly foul) Shock

dontcallmemam · 06/01/2014 19:50

The Mary Berry blazer in luminous pink is dry clean only. Better stick to Zara Mary.

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/01/2014 19:53

Mary Berry seems to favour way more £££ labels recently [am her style stalker] Wink

I quite like the leopard print heels but only if they come with a massive discount

AmberNectarine · 06/01/2014 20:09

Well my preview order has just been dispatched - bright pink cashmere crew neck and silver pointed slingback flats. Hopefully will be good!

BikeRunSki · 06/01/2014 20:12

For the first time ever, the catalogue has gone straight in the bin. There were some shoes I'd consider (with a discount!) but Boden shoes are never big enough for me (v wide size 8 feet).

BikeRunSki · 06/01/2014 20:23

Actually, I might retrieve it for the stickers.

TunipTheUnconquerable · 06/01/2014 20:27

Much as yummy mummy bakers love Mary Berry, surely they want to emulate her cooking, not her clothes? Yummy granny bakers, maybe.

VworpVworp · 06/01/2014 20:36

Oh dear- not for me then, either (grey/navy exclusively here)
DD loves the children's stuff, the more bright and mismatched the better Hmm
I do find the children shoes/sandals to be good for adult smaller sizes too

VworpVworp · 06/01/2014 20:37

I didn't realise Mary Berry was back on television either... Shock she was old when I was young, so how old is she now? Confused

BikeRunSki · 06/01/2014 20:37

See, i used to be a regular shopper. I used to do the thing with the stickers and see how much I would spend if I had a windfall. But recently - meh. This season - nothing. Somebody has lost the plot somewhere. Maybe me. I know the Mini designer went to Mamas and Papas a couple of years ago, but I am not sure what's happening with womenswear.

BikeRunSki · 06/01/2014 20:39

She's in her 80s VWorp.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 06/01/2014 20:50

When I was a size 24 and could easily fit into their 22's I used to buy lots of clothes. Now I just buy the leggings because I buy a 10 where I need a 12 every other shop Grin

whataboutbob · 06/01/2014 20:59

I started a Boden detox last spring summer and I'm sticking to it. Too many disappointments, clothes that look good in the catalogue but are badly cut and did nothing for me. I used to shop there for well made work basics like their cotton canvas trousers with a slight boot cut. But the quality has relentlessly gone down, the cotton's got thinner, the designs frumpy and the disconnect between the glamorous catalogue pictures and the reality of the clothes once you put them on, just got too big.
Having said that i think the kids' stuff is still quite good.

VworpVworp · 06/01/2014 21:03

Ah- yes, 80s would be about right!

I don't think the childrens wear fabric is as good as it used to be

MadBusLady · 06/01/2014 21:04

I really liked some of the colours they did in their autumn/winter collections.

This is what's wrong with British style IMO (just riffing on the French/Italian threads), if you go to Italy in the summer the women are still largely wearing black/camel/red/navy/white etc but in summer weights, and the British tourists are wearing big flooby floral skirts in ice cream colours.

I just don't have the colouring for it, I wish you could get more sleek, neutral summer clothing here.

Kevintheminion · 06/01/2014 21:09

I think Johnnie may have lost his marbles. ..usually there's a couple of nice pieces in the catalogue but couldn't see anything I liked. ..'fraid it's looking like an expensive Primark...

GeorginaWorsley · 06/01/2014 21:11

Have seen a couple of pretty basic jersey dresses that I will probably order.
Otherwise, not a lot takes my fancy.
No tops or cardigans, and had a couple of decent chino type trousers last year but nothing this year that I like.

whataboutbob · 06/01/2014 21:18

Johnnie has either lost his marbles, or is hoping to boost his profit margins prior to a sell off/ stock market flotation etc
