One pair of work shoes to rule them all...

Oh wise ones, please help a fashion desperado!

I'm due back to work in a couple of months and have realised I need some new work shoes as the old ones have fallen to bits.

I'm back in my pre-preg size 8s but despite having boobs for the first time ever I'm still a pear shape.

My job involves dealing with VIPs in the public sector and I'm looking to wear a combination of smart black trousers and pencil and jersey skirts.

I can only afford one pair of shoes or boots, so they'll need to look good with skirts or trousers, must be smart yet comfy (we have a very large site I need to walk around), and preferably have a feminine look with a little heel.

Have you seen my perfect shoe/boot? Please help - am not having much luck as yet...

Thanks in advance :)

Clarks Anika Kendra - I've got them in black patent (and got them on ebay from someone who bought them and then decided they didn't need the wide fitting), and they look v smart and are really comfy for long days on your feet

Whistles French 75 suede courts. Slim heel, pointed toe, suede, leather lined. Gorgeous. In the sale now for £65. I'm also a size 8 and find that pointy shoes usually cone up a size smaller than marked, but these are fab.

If I only bought one pair of shoes, they would be leather. Suede is too fragile IME if you need to wear them every day. I would want the best pair of leather lined , leather stilettos in a heel of no more than 8 or 9 cm.

Thanks!

They're both really nice, but do they stay on well? I always struggle with court type shoes because they slip off (must walk funny).

My old shoes were like brogues, but with a sensible mid heel - looked great with trousers, less so with skirts, but stayed on my feet.

Oh and I meant I'm a size 6 shoe (never anything in the sales dammit)!

I just bought a lovely block heel pump from and other stories. Think that is now sold out but what about these
Heeled brogues here and here. Second link in sale!

I've had my eye on these for a while, but I'm waiting for the price to come down...

I was also looking for something that would work with both skirts and trousers and these are perfect, IMO, but the price is just beyond my current budget!
