I want some curling tongs - come tell me which ones

I have fairly thick hair that's just below my shoulders. I've been a ghd faithful for years but am bored of the straight look and am totally hopeless at curling/waving my hair using ghds.

So I figured some tongs might be the best way forward.

Now, I don't want tight curls, I prefer more of a bouncey wave to add a bit of shape and texture and glamour!! What do I need to achieve that kind of look? Will any tongs do? Is it just a case of winding the hair round looser to get a wave (and tighter to get a curl)?

Not looking to spend a fortune as there's every possibility I'll use them a couple of times, be distraught that I'm so frigging useless at any hairstyling, and they'll sit in a box for years..

Any recommendations?

Not curling tongs but I got these rollers about 7 years ago and I love them!

I always get great comments and they can be right curls (using the small ones) or large ones. There is videos on YouTube on how to use them.

Are they easy to use? And do they take ages??

I honestly think they are easy peasy, have a look at the YouTube videos, I tried to link but couldn't figure it out!

I spray each section with hair spray then roll and pin then leave for as long as I've got, probably minimum of 20 minutes.

When I tried to curl my hair with tongs it took ages.

Watching with interest!

Don't bother with tongs, get a Babylis Pro Curl or Secret Curl. They are fantastic.

This curling wand is flipping brilliant and very easy to use. Just wrap random bits of hair round the barrel and you get super shiny, long lasting (for days) curls or waves. Hold for longer to get proper curls or up to 5 secs for beachy waves.

DD had the Remington Pearl wand for her birthday and it makes lovely soft curls/waves. She had the Remington Pearl straighteners too which I got her after researching on MN and they work very well too. They were half price on John Lewis website but not sure if still on offer. I bought the straighteners & curling wand for £60.

Oh I just clicked the link for previous post and it is for the Pearl wand so I would agree with ElizabethBathory too. DD very happy and easy to use too.
