Round neck jumpers - how to wear?

Idiot question but what are you meant to do with a round neck jumper if you don't wear scarves? I have tried wearing a shirt underneath with a collar but it's all so constricting and lumpy-looking.

It's a neckline that sits on my collarbone so not really very flattering. Do I need a scarf?

Vest underneath in contrasting colour, so you just see one of the straps. That's what I do, anyway!

A big necklace?

Thanks - though it's higher than that, I wouldn't be able to see any straps. It actually covers my collarbone now I think about it - sorry!

A big necklace sounds good - hadn't thought of that. I mainly have bead-type ones or fine jewellery - maybe need to find something louder. Should it follow the roundness of the neck or be pendant-like to make a 'V' ?

What sort of shirt? Mine look really lumpy underneath :(

I've got various 'statement' necklaces that I wear with round neck jumpers - J Crew/Banana Republic very good for them.

I'd suggest wearing the jumper and then going and trying a lot on to see which one works best.

I quite like something that goes into a v shape - I wear this one a lot

Just a normal cotton shirt from Gap or somewhere like that.

You have to have the jumper big enough that it doesn't pull over the shirt - which I guess if you have just bought the jumper having only tried it on over a bra or a vest top then it might not be?

If a shirt isn't an option then I would go with a scarf.

I have to wear different size jumpers if I intend to wear over a shirt or not. But I am a fan of the big necklace over a round neck jumper.
